A dangerous place for anyone with a shoe fetish.

by Contributor at Citysearch

This fashion-forward, three-store chain varies its selection according to neighborhood, but the Hayes Valley location carries a cross-section of trendy trainers, designer boots and chic accessories. Shoppers find everything from Helmut Lang's dominatrix-style heels to outrageous Prada tennis shoes. Minimalist designs like Coccinelle handbags and wallets, leather jewelry by Jutta Neuman, Miu Miu sunglasses and Katherine Hamnett watches round out the mix.

No problem with me

by ibis42 at Citysearch

This is the first time I shopped at Gimme Shoes on Hayes St. The lady (short brown hair) that assited me was VERY helpful. I must have tried on 7 different pairs in two sizes. I am very pleased w my visit and will come back again. (I walked out w 3 pairs - all on sale for 60% off!)

What Service???

by tuff2match at Citysearch

The attitude... the salespeople just make shopping there unpleasant. Instead of feeling good after walking out with your new shoes you feel blah cause you just sacrificed your morals for a pair of shoes.

Rude, rude, rude

by coburn2418 at Citysearch

While Gimme Shoes has great designer shoes, the help is sooooo rude I would rather pay twice as much for the same shoe as opposed to dealing with these people. Especially when the help at a competitor - Smash - is so friendly.

  • Pros: Lots of Designers
  • Cons: Rude help

all attitude

by sfchickster at Citysearch

I've shopped at gimme shoes for the last 6 years and everytime i buy next door at bulo. Why? attitude. No matter how dressed up or down I am or who I come in with the boys who run this shop don't give service. The selection of shoes is fantastic but the service stinks. The employees need to work on commission or maybe need profit sharing - something to motivate them! :)

  • Pros: brands, selection
  • Cons: service, service, service
