Not the worst, but not the BEST

I've stayed at a few hotels in the city, and I'd say that this one wasn't the best. The beds were comfy, the service was fair (nothing TOO great), cleaning crew was good, but I guess I expected a lot of this one. I hear a lot about this being one of the best hotels in the city, it's nice, but nothing is too great about it. I honestly preferred "The Palace" a lot better than this one. Some rooms here are also said to be haunted (in the first hotel) The doorman didn't seem to be very nice himself. If oyu go in the second hotel, get on the elevator, you could see a GREAT view of the city from here as well. Esp at night! I expected more for the amount that I spent, btu I got more for my money @ The Palace.

Left my heart in SF!

I stayed at this hotel with the "love of my life".....it is a very user friendly and romantic hotel! Loved everything about it....especially the Compass Rose

• Pros: heart of union sq., great lobby bar, fun spot
• Cons: bad parking

Waste of money

First room was too small and way too dirty, so I switched to a bigger dirty room. My room service orders were incorrect all three times that I ordered. My TV barely got reception.

The bed was very comfortable and the GM did respond to my complaints with an apology, but not sure I'll give them another shot.
