Coming from someone like me, this is a very big deal. I have been searching too long for a good stylist in Boston who is good at both coloring and cutting, and of the 2 years I have lived here I had not yet found one. I have tried over ten stylists at the top-rated salons on Newbury, but never returned for a second visit to a single one, until I heard about the Salon at 10 Newbury and had Elie recommended to me. I have very long thick blonde hair that is hard to manage and is pretty dried out from at least 5 years of color treatment, but Elie literally transformed my hair into something that did not even look like my own... It was amazing. I brought in a few pictures of what I thought I wanted and Elie ran with it and added his own suggestions. The color was Perfect and the cut was just what I wanted, not too much but not too little. So many stylists will blindly do exactly what you tell them to do without a care as to whether it is the most practical or whether it is a good look for you. Thanks to Elie and his 15+ years of experience and his genuine passion for making your hair look good, I saved myself money, time, and whatever health my hair had left. Plus-- most importantly, my hair looks and feels Great, so I look and feel great. I will never go to another salon as long as I live in Boston!! Thanks Elie :)

After years of trying to disguise my thinning hair, I finally booked an appointment to discuss wig options with Pat Wrixon. During our 2 hour consultation, she patiently explained my options without exerting any pressure to buy. She carefully selected a combination of several different colors of human and synthetic hair to replicate my own natural and highlighted blonde hair (but with more volume!) and made a mold of my scalp. After the wig arrived, she styled it until we were both delighted. I have great hair! Thank you, Pat.

In September Pat Wrixon at The Salon at 10 Newbury Street fitted me for a wig before my chemotherapy treatment. To my amazement, my wig looks so much like my own hair that most people do not know I have a wig on. Of course, the wig always looks like I just came from the beauty salon. People are always complimenting me on how wonderful I and my hair look! My wig is so comfortable that I just put it on in the morning, forget about it and take it off at night. But the most memorable part of the fittings was Pat herself. Her skills at selecting and styling the right wig for her customers comes wrapped in a package of calmness, kindness and gentleness. Her smile fills the room with peace. A potentially stressful experience turned out to be one of joy.

I recently went to the salon at 10 Newbury and had a great experience. Everybody was very friendly, and the my hair was exactly the way that I wanted it to be. So many times it seems that the hair stylist didn't even hear a word I said. Very nice, especially for Newbury Street.
Pros: services, atmosphere, people
Cons: parking

I've been getting bikini waxes for the past year now and I have had a few painful experiences so I was very nervous about getting a brazilian, but Arwen was seriously the best ever! she was quick and it was nearly painless. I still cannot believe the results. This salon is also really nice and super friendly especially for a Newbury St salon. There was cake and lemon ice water and even the front desk people were nice, which I have yet to experience at a Newbury St. salon. Don't waste your time or money going anywhere else. A brazilian is only $50. Go to Arwen!!
Pros: staff, atmosphere, painless waxing
Cons: none
