Fun, fresh seafood spot

Love the new patio at Nettie's and the food and drinks are great. The crab roll is overflowing with washington crab (soon local crab) and the roll is griddled and warm. Love the steamers: the clams are nicely sized for the west coast and taste delicious dipped in the warm, drawn butter. The bright interior with abundant windows and skylights make a great dining environment, chairs really comfy and service personable. The chips and wedge fries are perfectly fried and try the burger! It's got grilled onions mixed into the beef. Brunch is great: granola, eggs, pancakes, crabcakes benedict. Something for everyone, and lots of big tables to acommodate walk ins (which we were lucky to be!) I'll be back on my own to sit at the bar and definitely back with a large group to enjoy more items on the menu.
Welcome to Union St.

Very worthy addition to the Union St. offerings. The service is smart and efficient and the seating choices are quite good. I would say that the portion sizes would not please the trencherman, however they turn out to be just right size - a more European approach in this regard.
An unprententiously preppy seafood joint in the Marina trucks in shellfish and seashore ambiance.
by Patrick Heig
Conceived as an East Coast crab shack, this light-filled, multi-room, upscale restaurant ain't exactly a shack, and the Easter egg pastels, jaunty pinstriped upholstery and preppy patrons in the dining room make it feel more like Martha's Vineyard than hardscrabble Maine. Though it's helmed by alumni of fine-dining estabs like Spruce, Jack Falstaff and Chez Panisse, Nettie's is a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-eat joint, with barbecue oysters served with a beer chaser, soul-food-esque jalapeno spoonbread okra, po' boys, crab rolls, steamers and boiled crayfish paired with inexpensive wine and beer served in ice buckets. The long varnished bar serves specialty cocktails, and the sidewalk patio gets the best of the midday sun, but bring your shades to lunch as the all-white furniture can get Arctic-Circle bright.
