Delicious Peruvian Tapas

by vitelio

The tapas were very tasty and the portions were great considering tapas are very small. We also had two of the deserts: bread pudding and torta fambrosa. My seven yar old daughter loved the lomito saltado. The service was stupendous and our waiter was Enrique and the Hostess was also very nice. I was pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I will certainly return with my family. 2/1/09

Great find!!!

by lmnop

My fiance and I were just driving around in SF looking for a place to eat. We drove by this cute restaurant that seemed to be crowded and figured it must be worth trying. The food and service were amazing!!! The prices were very reasonable as well. Loved everything about this place and highly recommend it!

Quality and Price!

by Bugarron

For $9.50 I had a relaxed atmosphere, half of a rotisserie chicken with two side dishes. Impeccably clean, and waiters that are attentive to your every need. The side dishes are quite tasteful, with a string bean melody that is plentiful and tasty, yuca fries that surpass your typical American french fries. The half chicken is perfect for two and a third side dish would bring the meal down to less than $15, a deal for the ambiance and quality. The chicarron chicken is tasty and and excellent side dish if fried food is not an issue.

  • Pros: Clean, well priced, ambiance, and friendly service
  • Cons: None

Expertly cooked, reasonably priced Peruvian small plates in a hassle-free location? Keep this one under wraps.

by Patrick Heig

A stripped-down but somehow souped-up version of the Mission favorite Limon, Limon Rotisserie is cheaper and arguably better than its predecessor, although it does have one glaring problem: too many people might find out about it. Generous servings of Peruvian-style tapas like the citrusy, spicy ceviche, juicy carne a la parilla and crispy chicharron de pollo are all less than $9, and three of these plates between two people are filling. Also a deal are the towering pitchers of Goldilocks-grade sangria (not too sweet, not too strong--just right) at about $4 a glass. The space is simple, elegant and uncluttered, and street parking is easy, although keeping this place a secret may not be.

Delicious High-End Peruvian at Excellent Prices

by drewsf77

My partner and I went here last night for its opening weekend. The service was impeccable -- slightly ingratiating but not obsequious.

For an apertif we had sangria and agreed that flavourwise it was as good as Cha-Cha-Cha's, athough the fruit chips were diced a little tiny for my taste (sometimes I'd eat an orange peel and get a little flavor jolt!). Also, a little too much ice, but otherwise very very delicious sangria.

The ceviche pescado is delightful and served with jumbo maize kernels and roasted kernels (kind of like corn chips but tastier. The fish itself (halibut I think?) is fresh and tangy -- to die for.

The Lomito Saltado (small grilled beef cubes and papas fritas) was smokey, delicious, sublime. But it was really the chicken hot tapas plate was meaty heaven (I don't remember the name of it, but there was only one chicken tapas plate) . I could eat just that for dinner and be satisfied!

I'd highly recommend this place. They have delicious tapas at a very affordable price. In fact, you can go the non-tapas, under-$10 route by getting a half-chicken and two sides of Peruvian perfection. That's high-end taste at food-stall prices.

  • Pros: Delicious food, excellent service and prices!
  • Cons: Nada!
