I'm one of the owners of the Massage Envy in Pleasant Hill. Our massage therapists are NEVER supposed to talk about the memberships so I am not sure why this person did. It is not our policy. With over 30 therapists on staff it is possible that this person was new and misunderstood how we do things. As far as the front desk being rude. I am very sorry that happened. We do strive for great customer service. We try to hire the best people we can and if they don't work out they don't work for us for very long. As far as skill levels of therapists. Our entire management team is composed of massage therapists. We screen everybody carefully. Many of our therapists have worked for other spas and have a lot of experience. Nevertheless choosing the right therapist is a very personal choice for each client. Our therapists get bonuses for being requested to encourage building a personal relationship. Our goal is to build a great relationship and provide great value to our customers. We have some of the best massage tables of any local spa. They are electro hydraulic with a heated cover. Every room has customizable lighting and music volume. We just added hot tea to the waiting room. We very much value all feedback and strive to make every experience at our Massage Envy the best it can be.

I was curious about this 'affordable', AKA cheap massage. I was quite impressed with the beauty of their place. Nice fountain & soothing colors. The massage therapist was pretty good. More skilled that I expected. But the front desk staff was kind of rude, and my whole experience was too impersonal for me. If I'm to allow someone to massage my body, I'd feel more comfortable if I knew the massage therapist better. After the massage, he mostly talked about why the membership was such a good deal versus educating me on what I can do so I wouldn't be so tight in my neck & shoulders. Overall, it was only $40, but it wasn't worth my time. I'd rather get a massage less often with someone highly experienced & can show me stretches to help me feel better.
Pros: lots of open appointments
Cons: mediocre & impersonal service
