Overall good food

I went on a Saturday night at 7pm ish with my friends. I thought the sampler (3) choice poke portion could be a little more. I thought the lomi-lomi salmon was somewhat salty which overwhelms the fish(It was unnecessary-needs to maintain balance the flavors between the fish and other ingredients); the ahi poke needs a little more flavoring---hukilau's probably better; and the octopus was good. This couple that sat next to us mentioned their steak is too salty. Their kalua pork with cabbage is tasty yet moist--same for their teriyaki chicken. Their hapia is good also. The service is attentive. The decor is presentable with wide space to walk through(hukilau's is cramped). If anyone from Hanu's reads this constructive criticism and to willing to improve themselves--then I probably return more often. Remember the few good to great individuals can make (a)(the)difference(s).

• Pros: Kalua pork/cabbage, teriyaki chicken, octopus appetizier.
• Cons: Ahi tuna need more flavoring, lomi-lomi salmon is salty, (3) choise sampler could be a little more plentiful.

Best Poke in Town !!!!!

You gotta try the different varieties of Poke they have at this place, oh so many and oh so "Ono"(good). My favorite dish would be the Mochiko Chicken with that sweet glaze and potato salad. Not your average Hawaiian joint.

Great restaurant with lively atmosphere!

Will definitely be back for more!

Great food with great prices

My co-worker and I were so excited about the restaurant because our significant others are Hawaiian and its very hard to find good food in the city. We went for lunch with a party of 8 and had the best food. I had lomi lomi salmon from their Poke bar, and was surprised by their generous portions. The service was great and the girls and I would definitely go back.

Great Hawaiian Food & Spirit!

I loved Honu's from the minute i walked in. The warm colors and friendly vibe made me feel comfortable and happy. The food was great, lots to choose from, the beer selection goes on and on (happy happy, joy joy) and they have a nice selection of sakes too. They said they were going to be serving sake cocktails soon... I?ll be going back for that for sure. Honu's is a great addition to San Francisco and Japan Town. Check it out!

• Cons: nothing
