5 Star Spa Service Without the 5 Star Spa Prices
by Aeffia

I love going to Nova Nails. I feel comfortable with the atmosphere, the estheticians, and of course, the service is excellent. Kim, the proprietress is friendly and very conscientious about the service rendered to her clients. Some of the estheticians like Joanne tend to keep in mind the preferences of their clients and would do the manicure accordingly.
Initially, I wanted to support this establishment because of their commitment to the environment, their use of the ?green? interior, and most importantly, the lack of the chemical smell permeating throughout the spa onto the street, almost. Of course, it is significant that the hygienic standards are very high at Nova Nails as all the manicure kits are disposed of after each use.
The other big plus for Nova Nails is its location. Ah, location, location, location, right across the street from Bloomingdales. It is just so ideal to venture across the street, relax in the comfy custom spa chair and soak my tired feet a tub of aromatic warm water in just ready for that Mandarin-Honey Scrub.

My mani/pedi's by Linh or Nina have been great. I'm really picky about cleanliness and the shape of my nails, and Nova has delivered on both, plus a nice environment, comfy seats. I'm a big fan. The price is so reasonable for the skill and sanitary practices. Stop walking out of nail salons unsatisfied with your hurried, dirty treatment and go to Nova!
- Pros: detailed, very clean, later appts (6 pm!!)

I have been visiting the Nova Nail Spa since it opened in the fall, and I have been to many nail salons before. I always get the top treatment from any and all of the professional manicurists, and the environment is so healthy and calming. Great place....great services and always so friendly. Sherry
clean place & good mani/pedi

Two main things for me: cleanliness and skill. This place is a definitely nicer and a big notch above nail chop shops but the price for the basic mani/pedi is not that much more and is well worth it considering the care they take and the clean, neat surroundings. I also liked their color selection. I guess a lot of people would appreciate that it's a "green" business that uses some natural products and recycled bldg materials, which is nice, but for me it all comes down to skill (for the price) and cleanliness. You won't be disappointed with this cute nail salon.
- Pros: clean, detailed/skilled mani/pedi, new; easy 5ht& Mission garage prkg

In Short
On the unlikely strip near the Fifth and Mission Parking Garage, this well-designed nail spa features a surprising level of warmth and attention to decor, cleanliness and eco-conscious detail. Contemporary spa chairs line two walls, tossed with throw pillows and footed with constantly-refreshed pedicure baths. Long center manicure tables and a front "water wall" fountain add to the spa's clean lines.

Thrilled to find this new salon on Citysearch! Where to start... When I entered, I was impressed by the cool, naturalistic enviroment with warm, calm "bamboo" like decor and very comfortable chairs. I was offered tea or yummy lemon water and then Linh and Joanna did my hands and feet perfectly. Not only was the shape fantastic (I re-file my nails after 95% of my mani's but didn't have to touch them this time) but the massage was so nice and the scrub and lotion smelled wonderful. There really was no nail polish smell as their website says. The colors they had were very up to date as well and I fell in love with a funky, trendy dark purple for my toes and was psyched to branch out from dark red. Plus, everyone there was really friendly and Linh was even fun to talk with. Finally, the place was CLEAN! The instruments were in a hygenic bag and I was given my stuff to keep at the end. Parking is easy inthe Mission/5th street garage and it's a perfect escape while shopping in Union Square or from work in SOMA. And oh yeah, reasonable prices too. Can't speak highly enough of this new cute place! Thank you!
- Pros: skill, cool nail colors, friendliness, location, easy garage parking, not too crowded (YET!), nice atmosphere, clean
Best Place to Relax after shopping in SF by Mi L. at InsiderPages

I went shopping with my mom in SF last weekend. We were pretty tired from all the walking .... but found this nail spa Below Mission Garage next to Mel's. So, we had to try it out.The place was fantastic and nicely decorated. I got my pedi done for $40 and they gave me mani ($20) for FREE as their grand opening special. It was a GREAT value :) The owner told us that they spent some serious money to customize spa chairs that do not use RECYCLED water. My mom and I are definitely going back again!
