I will NEVER go to this place again. Can I just start off by saying the two people at the door have major DOORMAN SYNDROME! I went there with my family and friends for my birthday to celebrate. I came early with my girlfriend and told them there would be around 15-20 of us coming and their response was we can't gaurantee that they would all get in, that they're not going to let a bunch of guys in at all. So we told them that they all have girls with them and he just smugged at us like what ever. So inside we inquired about table service thinking that would at least help my group get in, but they said their tables were ALL reserved. So as my friends & family are all outside unable to get in I go back outside to try to talk to the Doormen (because really that's all they are just one step up from a security guard with a flashlight) and the I.D checker in the black suite and hat doesn't want me around the door, but the bald guy in the jeans outfit and clipboard says it's cool,so I ask if I can get them in and I want a table. He starts acting cool for a moment and lets some of them in and says since you are getting a table "I will let them in". My brother was looking for parking at the time and wasn't in line yet, so I told clip board man and he says don't worry I'll take care of him when he comes. That was a big lie! As most of us were inside now the SALES lady selling the tables comes up and says all of a sudden we have a table on the dance floor that seats around 6, keep in mind there are 15 of us a this time. So I tell her that it's a little small. She leaves and comes back around 15 minutes later & ALL of a sudden again now they have two more tables upstairs and she wants us to buy four bottles for a $1000. So I tell her that we don't want four bottles so she says oh well. Now DOORMAN with doesn't want to let my brother in. I was more than willing to get a table with 2 bottles but they wouldn't let me. So we all left for John Collins down the block, no issues there.
Pros: music
Cons: RUDE, POWER TRIPPIN DOORMEN!

I was there 2 times on a thursday night and had a great time. Got in at around 9:30PM and did not have to wait to get in. The bar tenders are doing a great job, I find them very friendly and it is easy to get drinks even when it is a little packed. Prices are very reasonable too (relatively speaking). It really does not get much better than this when it comes to the music. It starts out with great downtempo like OM lounge, Thievery corp etc. Later in the night the music speeds up and the dance floor is packed. The DJ's know what they are doing, that's for sure. I find the crowd approachable and friendly compared to other clubs. Most of the people appear to be in their late 20's to early 30's. Last, but not least, the decor is very cool and stylish.
Pros: Extremely good music
Cons: The upstairs area can get sometimes a little too crowded

Over-rated night spot tainted with bouncers that feed off of doorman power. Let me and my beautiful friends in, but gave trouble to the second half of my friend's birthday party. Attention-hungry and passive-agressive wanna-be-trendy bouncer said to my male friends, "You can stand here all night and you won't get in." Meanwhile 75% of our group was already inside with the rest of the rude staff. Entrance is purely superficial, and depends solely on the mood and rules of the doormen at that given moment. Overheard several other groups complaining in line as well. And let me tell you, it was pretty empty inside...

Yes- it can be hard to get in- but it seemed to me most of the people (guys) in line could use help getting dressed for a night out. The staff and dj were great, and the drinks as well. The place itself is definitely the coolest spot in SF hands down.
Pros: did i say the space is amazing?
Cons: a little crowded- which is i sign of?

I went there recently and luckily I had bottle service otherwise I would've been standing all night. All seats are "reserved" in this place. And even if you are "VIP" it takes awhile for them to get their act together to let you in. The DJ is pretty good, but the bartenders tend to get too chatty with the girls and it can take awhile to get their attention.
Pros: Good DJ, good service (with VIP)
Cons: no seats

My girlfriends and I had not been out in a while, so we decided to try this new place we found online - Harlot. First of all, there was not a line outside and as soon as we walked up the host offered us VIP service. We then proceeded to get drinks, and the bouncer was kind enough to pick up our tab. The music was a mix of old school and new school rock, R&B, and hip hop. Also, the crowd was great because there were more mature people (in their early 30's; I'm 25) and less teenie boppers. Overall, we had a great time! Harlot is currently my favorite place to go.
Pros: Friendly service, music, cocktails are good
Cons: Parking

This place was ridiculously overrated. The club itself had way too many people just waiting in line outside..and once you actually get in, the club is dead. The people weren't stylin' or chic. It's a bunch of superficial people hanging around a night club. That's all there is folks...

This is currently a "trendy" spot for San Francisco nightlife but it will probably not be "hot" for very long. When we contacted the club about table service, the female manager was snobby, rude and disrespectful. She acted as if she came from New York to teach people from our city how to properly enjoy nightlife. Her style was, how shall I say this, not very San Francisco. If her attitude is anything like the owners - the club's popularity will flame out rather quickly. This is not New York nor do we want it to be.

Had to turn people away which was a bummer. I asked for another table with another guest list, but the hostess offered another bottle and everyone coming for my party would be able to get in. I got another bottle on top of the two I purchased but she switching her promise to only 4 people would be able to enter the club with the extra bottle purchase. That's $100 per person. Luckily, I voiced my complaints to the owner, and he quickly credited me back the extra bottle purchase for the confusion the following Wednesday.

You will not be allowed in if you don't bring at least 2 women with you. Period. Even if you come early.
