TERRIBLE vibe. Very unaccomodating. Treated me with disrespect. When I asked to speak with the manager after getting the rude receptionist she whispered about me first before talking to me in a condescending manner. No refunds. Worst "salon" experience of my life. Will never return. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have been to salons all over the world, New York, LA, London, Paris, Toronto, Italy and have been getting highlites in my hair since I was about 18 years of age and I think Rebecca at Moxi did a good job. I visited Moxi about 2 weeks ago and had my highlites done with Rebecca. The place is nice, the people friendly, but most DEFINATELY over priced. Like I said, I have been to some AMAZING salons around the world and I have NEVER paid so much for highlites in my life. I don't know if its because its on Union Street...but the outcome was definately not worth the money I paid. Also, the dry was not very good at all. I have long wavy hair and I had to go home and dry my hair myself to get it straight...or looking half decent. Usually...salons can get my hair pin straight without charging me an extra $60 for a blowdry . Overall....its ok...but I'm eager to explore some of the more trendy salons out in the mission or castro..that would be cheaper and probably would offer better results. So..you can try it if it looks interesting...

I love Moxi salon! It's a great atmosphere: intimate with attention to details, like chocolates and a lint brush in the changing room and good music. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the stylists are professional. Each of my appointments started out with a brief consultation, a wonderful scalp massage, then off to a relaxing room in the back for a shampoo and another great scalp massage, then back to the front for the cut and style. I've been three times and have loved each haircut. Highly recommended.

Looking for a great stylist and salon, I came upon Moxi a few weeks ago. I had a great experience in a very unique and cool environment. Rebbecca gave me a fantastic cut and I had a great time being looked after and came out looking and feeling gorgeous...Moxi has a sweet intimacy,not fast or loud, very relaxing and very recommended!!! I have followed Andriana (Moxi's owner) to different salons for over ten years now so my actions speak louder than words. She now has a salon of her own and every square inch of it reflects the classy, polished, zen-like personality of its owner. Pros: Warm, friendly staff; a ton of experience; always on the cutting edge of style

Cons: Parking is not ideal but my parking garage routine is all figured out and works great!

I highly recommend Moxi. The salon is very intimate and relaxing. I have always been so please with my color and cut and feel great after spending my time at Moxi.

Moxi is a great little salon...its small & intimate and the staff are all professional, polished and totally unpretentious. The scalp massages are awesome and I am always happy with my cut & color!

Pros: staff, wine with evening appts, aveda products

Cons: parking is tough
