My favorite sweet stop.
by Grandpa Bob at Citysearch
This place has friendly service and is very good at staying current. The owners regularly attend candy conventions and know their craft well.
New creations are always coming out of this shop that change with the season and holidays. Valentines Day, Halloween, and Christmas are among my favorites.
They keep themselves updated with facebook and twitter, so as to announce sales and free candy days.
- Pros: A stylish and delicious way satisfy your sweet tooth.
- Cons: none
Hard-to-find nostalgia candy lines the walls of this Russian Hill shop.

In Short
Owners Diane and Brian Campbell are devotees of niche candy, from straight-up Mallow Cups to luxe V Chocolates filled with caramel, sea-salt and pretzels. Clark bars, Necco Wafers, Skybars, Zagnuts, Idaho Spuds, Valomilk and other candy bars fill one wall; behind the register, canisters of chewy, sour, sweet and sticky gourmet candy - more than 300 kinds - line shelves up to the high ceiling. Sampling is encouraged, and "golden ticket" gift certificates are available.
New to Russian Hill - The Candy Store is AWESOME!

The Candy Store opened a week ago and I have been in there 4 times already! They carry old school candy from back east that I have never seen in SF - Zagnuts, Mallo Bars, Lik-M-Aid and more. Plus, they have the really cool candy necklaces and 1 lbs. jaw breakers! You have to check this place out!
- Pros: Candy from your youth!
- Cons: Hello - it is candy...Now I have to go to the gym again!
