I moved here from Manhattan and went to a person widely renowned as a colorist, who had many celebrity clients and a hair empire in NY (eponymous salon in a prestigious location, on TV shows, mentioned in all the magazines, etc.), so I was very nervous about changing colorists and proceeded to fly back to see my old colorist in NY for over a year. I thought no one could top my old colorist. Hugh DID. Not matched it, TOPPED it. I could not have been any more impressed with either the results or Hugh himself. The color (I'm blond) came out more beautiful than virtually any color I've ever been, with a warmth and tone I couldn't have described or found in a picture. I was a pretty color of blond before, but everyone noticed it the change the next day and commented that it looked amazing. I myself honestly couldn't stop looking in the mirror. It matches my skin tone better than before and generally makes *me* look better (rather than my hair looking great, but kind of wearing me or standing out so much it looks fake). It looks both bold and natural. On top of it, the whole experience was great. Hugh himself is just the most charming person you'll ever meet. He takes his work incredibly seriously - he told me he was lying in bed the night before thinking about my formula and he stayed late in the evening to squeeze me into his schedule - but he is also completely humble and great to work with. He is also fast. Forget 3 or 4 hour appointments or sitting around waiting. I was in and out in 2 hours. He spent the whole time on me - he doesn't double or triple book. He also really goes the extra mile for you - he has a special product used to seal your color (mine used to fade a little after the first few washes, but it didn't now) and follows up with a call to be sure you were happy with it and don't need any changes. If you color your hair, you must go to Hugh. That's really all there is to say. Don't waste your time or money with anyone else.
Pros: Amazing, celebrity-like color; extremely dedicated and talented staff
Cons: None really. It's high-end so it's not cheap, but it's perfectly reasonable and worth it
