With the city lights just beginning to illuminate the bay docks as the sun sets behind the Golden Gate Bridge, visitors get a unique chance to look out and imagine the prisoners' "million dollar view" of San Francisco from behind the island's bars. The extended tour features five to 10 special programs at night that open up some of the creepiest parts of the island, such as the old Alcatraz hospital and psych ward.
