Consistently very good by Tina G. at InsiderPages

My husband and I love Cacciucco -- once you learn how to prounce the name, then its all easy...

We have been going there for years -- we live locally in the neighborhood. We have always had excellent meals there. We love that their fresh pasta dishes are not too heavy. The wine recommendations are always spot on and the services is impeccable.

We love this place, and we hope it lasts through the recession.

The food is very good

by Simone7 at Citysearch

went there first time on a Saturday evening in a party of 3, called in an hour earlier to make a reservation, was able to get a patio table within an hour, nice greeting and quickly response to our needs, the food was excellent and good presented. Price is absolutely ok. The Waiter was a little to stressed didn't ask if everything is ok or how the food was, actually you were able to eat without interruptions. But for me as an european I do not need the "over-friendly-game-play", so it was not really bothering me. If you want to be pampered you're in the wrong place. However the food was like I mentioned it earlier excellent and we went overall statisfied home. I would highly recommend this place to others.

  • Pros: food is excellent
  • Cons: place is often crowed and staff a little stressed

Unique, yet authentic Italian cuisine

by arnonearnone at Citysearch

When I go to an Italian restaurant I like to order something that I don't usually cook at home. With most restaurants this is a problem as they serve the usual pasta, seafood and meat, etc. This is not the case at Cacciucco. Their menu is reminiscent of our trip to Italy, with unique dishes - wild boar, lobster ravioli, fish stew - things that are not usually found at Italian restaurants in America. The exclusively Italian wine list is fantastic. Thank you, Cacciucco, for being in Marin.

AWESOME

by marfred at Citysearch

This place is AWESOME, they serve the most authentic tuscan food i ever had in the bay area. The pasta is homemade and they serve an incredible hot cruncy bread to die for. If they have the black liguine seafood on special trust me ORDER IT!!! So many choices of delicious appetizers but go for the rolls of prosciutto with mascarpon or the polenta with mushrooms. I did not tried the pizza yet but it looks great!!!

EXTRAORDINARY DINNER

by freschrest at Citysearch

I drove by this place hundreds of times and heard great things about it, but i never tried their food before. We made a reservation for saturday for the four of us. Oh boy! I've never though i would have such a great dinner. It was my lucky day, they had "ossobuco"special with porcini (best i ever had).Starting from the appetizers to the desserts our dinner was extraordinary. The waiters are all Italian, our server was actually the owner himself!! He picked the wine and some of our entrees. Many of other guests were Italians and we knew we were in the right spot. We found ourself relaxing and chatting at our table for over two hours and we were never rushed. Service and food are impeccable, authentic and no pretentious. They'll see me again soon!

CINQUE STELLE

by dirtyh at Citysearch

First we shared few appetizers including an amazing polenta with mushrooms and fried calamari, then i ordered "spaghetti scoglio" very nice dane with jumbo scampi, clams, mussels, crayfish and calamari, the sauce was just right not too spicy and not too saucy. The Elk filet mignon was also excellent but too gamey for my taste (my guests loved it), Best of all was probably the Crab ravioli, they had a light sauce of lemon and shelled clams......unique, fresh and just so right. I was the only one to ask the waiter to pick a glass of wine for my dinner... and it was perfect. The place was packed and we waited a good 15 minutes before be seated and we didn't mind, the host apologized for the delay and offer a glass of champagne to all of us....we refused but very much appreciated. All in all our dinner was amazing, the music they play is incredibly nice.some thecno-jazz-flamenco or whatever it is Amazing. Was our first time at Cacciucco, we live in San francisco and we promise to visit it at list once a month. Cacciucco is now one of our favorite restaurants.

Tuscan Tragedy

by thumbsofroyalty at Citysearch

Here is how this bio should really read:

Nestled in the hills of an unattended parking lot, with false promises of majestic bay views, lies this strobe light honey of a "restaurant." Chef Davide, like other predecesors of the roman empire, have found a way to magically transform a bag of frozen grocery store ravioli to an overpriced "home-made Tuscan delicassy." I, as a respected chef, searched out and discovered this jewel as a place to have a memorable night. But instead, much to my dismay, I came upon - A shack of an establishment fitted with "there's parking downstairs," $5 table clothe's, and a lifeless mummy of a server that - when we asked him if our pancake-looking excuse of something was "agniolotti" he casually proclaimed, "ey...eh...if the boss says it's agniolotti --- then..(pause) - it's agniolotti."

At that point - we said "va fangulo" Took a chance and ordered "panacotta" and what we received could have maybe passed for a milk-gello-at a Cambodian refugee camp in 1985 in 90' degree heat. The coup de gras of our "Genuine Tuscan Experience" was that the above piece of culinary art came doused in nothing but the best - that's right, Hershey's "squeeze" syrup. Escape from the tourist traffic of dowtown and lose yourself in this Sausilito Slum. PS - Looking forward to soggy calamari with "Prego" sauce to make your head spin. Disclaimer" "you've been warned."

Their Lobster ravioli are just pure ecstasy. They melt in your mouth and you are in heaven. Everything was great but those ravioli are unforgettable. We had a flambe'of blackberry with gelato made at our table by the chef. One of my best dining experience.
