In Short
Each Wednesday, subscribers receive cooking kits with the week's featured entree along with optional appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Changing monthly menus include such offerings as spicy shrimp pasta with puttanesca sauce one week and duck confit with sweet mashed potatoes the next. Orders arrive in cooler bags with ice blankets that are picked up the following week and reused. Instruction cards demystify the cooking process, designed to take 20 minutes or less.

I originally signed up for the Cook-SF service thinking that I?d try it out for a month or two and then move on? Well let me tell you from the first week I was impressed and now that I?ve used it for a while I?m still blown away by how good and so much fun it is. When first signed up I expected a ?meals on wheals? type of service where the pre- prepared food came in little containers but it?s not that at all, it?s some much more than that. The food is always super fresh and very well prepared.

It?s gotten to the point where I look forward to Wednesday because it?s my night in the kitchen and I can not only give my wife a rest but also make a fantastic meal. I love it; I start by opening a bottle of wine and dive right in. Everything I need is included in the package and what I love about it is all the boring prep work is all done for you and all you have to is the best part of cooking.

  • Pros: very clear directions, delisious food
  • Cons: wish it was more than once a week

I like Cook SF because I can cook at home when I don't have time to go to grocery shopping. This is good service for people who love cooking and eating healthy but don't have time to shop after work or going to the gym. The gourmet entrees are prepped and can be cooked within minutes. The ingredients are fresh and veggies are organic. I order a kit for 2 and I can have a couple of meals ready for the week or entertain a guest. I've impressed a few friends this way. The food is really healthy and tasty. It's nice to avoid take out and try/cook new foods on your own.

  • Pros: Great delivery service
  • Cons: Don't wait too long to get cooking

Cook! is a wonderful service. Every Wednesday I have a gourmet meal for two delivered to my office. It is nice not to have to think about what to do for dinner and to know that it will be good, not to mention healthy and fresh. The meals are easy to prepare - they really do take only about 20 minutes (or less) to prepare. It is nice for us to eat a gourmet dinner in the comfort of our own home, especially because we don't have to spend hours planning, shopping, and preparing it.

The Cook-SF service is great. It not only provides you with quality ingredients you'd only get in a high-end restaurant (e.g. excellent salmon, duck, steak) but enables you to cook the quickly and easily in the home. You get all the flavor benefits of freshly prepared food, but without all the pain of shopping, chopping, measuring, etc. And, you get the fun of actually cooking!

If you're a busy professional who likes to cook, or just a guy who'd like to impress a girl with a home-made meal, this service is for you.

Whether you consider yourself a novice or a pretty good cook, Cook! is really easy to do (it really does take less than 20 minutes...even for a non-cook like myself), and the food is AWESOME -- I would say the meals are pretty flavorful and innovative. For some people I'd say the best part of cook! is not having to deal with/plan anything in whipping up a fantastic meal (everything is pre-chopped, portioned out, etc.), but for me it's definitely a treat to even say I was able to prepare anything close to these great meals...Oh yeah, and delivery is a great service and really reliable.

  • Pros: Great quality, Don't have to plan out your meal (pre-chopped, pre-portioned)
  • Cons: Set for meal for 2

Every Wednesday, I can be guaranteed an easy home-cooked and healthy meal where all the menu-planning, shopping, and prep is done. You get a delicious, well-balanced meal in less time with fewer dishes for less money than it would cost to get the same caliber of food dining out. The best part about subscribing to Cook! for me is that I learned how to cook spinach in a whole new way that I now do every time. I've actually learned interesting and simple ways to prepare food the rest of the week too! And even if you overcook the roast duck, like I did, the cherry confit makes up for it. I also like the unusual dessert options; the Jasmine Green Tea truffles were fantastic.

  • Pros: Easy to cook, shows nutritional facts (UNLIKE a restaurant)
  • Cons: You can ruin your meal if you don't do it right.
