Great place for gift-giving!

by cloiz at Citysearch

i love this girly spot because its accessories, -- think chic suede handbags, wool scarves, and elegant but funky stationary -- are impossible to find elsewhere (unless you want to jet off to soho). the prices are great, too which is rare for a hayes street boutique.

  • Pros: Adorable store, great variety of quality products, nice owners
  • Cons: Parking on Hayes can be argh

Rock Stars of the Hayes

by juliagulia007 at Citysearch

Out of all the stores in the Hayes Valley, jacquelinetalbot is THE SPOT. The one and only place for one of a kind accessories, purses, hats, and general splendiness from $-$$$$. I?m not someone who normally drops $75 on a pair of earrings but I didn?t think thrice about it when I went in today. (I think it helped that the earrings were kick a** but I digress). I realized that I would rather spend my hard earned money (or use my debt inducing cc?s) in jacquelinetalbot than at any other place in the Hayes. This is due to one undeniable truth they posses: customer service (and not in the fake I have to make my goal way, but in the, I really do care if you are happy way). I mean real old fashioned customer service? Who would have thunk? I spent 2 hours in there today talking with Talbot, dancing, divvying out cookies, and generally harassing other customers (but in a good way). That's the kind of service I'm talking about. I cannot rave about this store enough and I hope you do the same.

  • Pros: merchandise, owners
  • Cons: NONE

Fashionably fun Hayes Valley boutique offers accessories for body and home.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
The practically shoebox-sized shop might be easy to miss if it wasn't for its ecstatic pink, black, and silver motif. The walls are lined with hats, belts, bags (mostly custom made for the boutique) and home items like bath accessories and soy candles. Retrofitted antique picture frames serve as cases for the extensive jewelry selection. The owners, a husband-and-wife team, choose every piece together (some are designed by Jacqueline herself) and are happy to share information.

this is such a cute space! the goodies inside are just too damned fun. i bought a beatiful pair of earrings that i think the owner designed (and made - something no too common these days when "everybody is a designer"). i get asked where i found them A LOT and i tell them this little place on Hayes Street. i will go back often. just a really easy and fun experience.

  • Pros: totally affordable! beautiful things! extremely friendly and not pretenious
  • Cons: dark windows- didn't know what was inside until i entered

A Slice of New York in San Francisco Heaven

by 2279 at Citysearch

As any dedicated shopper knows, falling in love with the way a boutique looks is one thing, falling in love with the merchandise a boutique carries is another. At Jacuelinetalbot, I had the opportunity of admiring the feminine, artsy, and overall hip decor as I searched the custom made purses, jewelry and other one of a kind stationary products that left me wishing I had more money in my checking account to buy up the fall products! This boutique carries everything you would NOT be able to find at a department store, and the prices are reasonable enough to shop for you plus one. And if the black and white photos of old Hollywood Glamour Gals lining the walls are not enough, maybe the fact that the store is run by the most fabulous couple (wifey makes one of a kind jewelry and hubbie tends the store as well)will get you in the door sooner rather than later. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I left thinking I was back in New York City, but then I recalled how polite the staff was and how short the lines were, and I breathed a sigh of relief knowing I found such a lovely store in my incredible city by the Bay.

  • Pros: Excellent Customer Service, Fabulous One of a Kind Finds

Hayes Valley Gem

by whatevername at Citysearch

First of all..The owners of this place rock! They're fun, interesting & honest..& make some of the jewelry themselves ... they make it worth the visit to the store. Secondly, there's lots of fun, beautiful, original items at different cost ranges (important for someone on a shopping budget). My girlfriends who also shop here look stunning whenever they wear the hats or jewelry. And last of all, I had a very cool ring from the store that fell off my finger when I was dancing at Pink. I had my guy pal looking on the floor for it with a flashlight. Luckily he found it & I was happy until I immediately realized someone had stepped on it and completely flattened it. I stared at it in the palm of my hand in shock. The best part of this: Where else could you bring back a ring that got stepped on and smashed on the dance floor at Pink and have the store owner commiserate with the story and offer to turn the ring into a necklace. There you have it!

  • Pros: Easy parking, great location, easy to find
  • Cons: i wish this place was in my neighborhood

Best Accessory Boutique, Best shopping experiece

by michgates at Citysearch

Absolutely love this place. It's an essential SF destination for a fashion diva on an accessories shopping mission. I always find several items to purchase when I'm at the store - the pieces are all very hip, trendy and classic...and most importantly, not mass produced. My favorite part is that I usually end up getting compliments on the items I bought, every time I wear them out & about in the city. Prices are very reasonable and the boutique is very shoppable and not pretentious. Highly recommend an excursion to Hayes Valley to make a stop at this store!

  • Pros: Easy to find, ample parking, great restaurants and shops nearby
