Poor customer service from Sarah (located on Kings Street)

by Christine2313 at Citysearch

I felt like Radical Tan did not want my business. I called and talked to Sarah. It was like I called her at the wrong time, she did not give me the time of day.

Today, I was able to tan at a place that was more than friendly.

I would not recommend Radical Tan to any of my friends.

Radical Tan - best service

by jpm04474 at Citysearch

Radical Tan on King Street is one of the best tanning salons I've been to! The owners offer personalized service, spend the time getting to know you and offer advice on how to best achieve your objective. They have a wide variety of tanning lotions in different sizes but don't push these products like other salons which I greatly appreciate. I find the booths are extremely clean and are stocked with all the needed amenities; headphones, new towels, spare glasses and even a chocolate! Again, by far the best salon I've been to.

  • Pros: Clean, friendly and very accomodating
  • Cons: not a one

Fabulous Tanning, friendly service, clean establishment.

by Jewelsiestyle at Citysearch

I have been tanning at "Radical Tan", for 2 years now. I am very happy with my tan. The owners are fabulous people, and very friendly. They work hard to make sure their guests are well taken care of. They give education on the products and tanning beds. Their salons is very well maintained and clean. Their prices are reasonable, with great specials. I would recommend "Radical Tan", over any other tanning salon in the city...by far!!!!!

  • Pros: Parking, location, effect. evening appointments

Great tanning experiance!

by missySFgirl at Citysearch

I love this place so much I decided to become a citysearch member so i could rave about the great staff and clean beds. I have been tanning here for about 6 months and I leave feeling great every time. The owners and staff are great! They are personable and helpful if you are not a frequent tanner and you have questions. The beds are clean and I have never seen a burnt out bulb yet. I just put on my loation, put on their headphones ( they have several channels to select from), and relax for 15 minutes. I would reccomend this place for everyone no matter what the tanning type..... i have very pale skin but have never burned in these beds! Also if you join their email list you recieve coupons off tan packages on a pretty frequent basis

  • Pros: friendly staff, clean beds, frequently recieve emails of coupons from the salon, good late hours
  • Cons: none

15 minutes of 'Me' Time.... I'm a fan!

by jamesbeswick at Citysearch

I've only been a member for a short while but I'm a huge fan. I didn't know what to expect since I've never been a member of a salon before, but it's worth every penny and definitely ranks as one of new favorite pastimes.

Basically, the $79 a month low-intensity package gives you unlimited tanning sessions. So if you tan 3 times a week, that's about $6.50 a session (which, as far as I know, seems outrageously cheap). 15 minutes of pure relaxation for the price of 2 cappuccinos...

Some other pleasant things:

1) The owners and staff seem extremely personable and the tanning rooms are spotlessly clean and well-provided for.

2) The range of lotions and potions is quite impressive - I never knew so many existed.

3) I can't explain how much healthier I feel. I work on computers all day and my lousy skin has soaked up every moment of the UV.

Anyway, try it out!

PS - The negative reviews on this place seem to be total BS ("they have low pressure beds!" - whatever that means).

  • Pros: Great value, pleasant staff, long opening hours
  • Cons: None

Best Tanning Salon in SOMA!

by pbrandguru at Citysearch

I have been an indoor tanner for about 10 years now and, after a recent move the SOMA needed to find a new 'hot bed'. After visiting local establishments I decided to become a client (as opposed to a customer) of Radical Tan. My reasons:

1) Very friendly and helpful staff.

2) Accessible, open and honest owners. Bernard and Theresa are awesome!

3) Competitive pricing.

4) Fantasy football competition- any establishment that will compete with their clients in online fantasy football for prizes gets my vote!

I would recommend them to anyone who needs/wants an indoor tan.

  • Pros: Friendly, curteous staff. Fair pricing. Excellent equipment.

greaaaaat salon!

by pg100888 at Citysearch

i've never burned there in all the times i've gone tanning there. When I initially called up the salon to ask about prices before I even began going there, the owner was soo nice and patient in fulfilling all my questions. He shows genuine care for his clients, making relevant suggestions, etc. I am extremely pleased with the wonderful customer service you get at this salon. The beds are great quality too! And the prices aernt too bad either! Be sure to go to their website to get a coupon for the new customer promotion. :) it's great!

You have to check out this salon, because of the service, the great lamps and the avaliabilty of beds. Good competitive prices. I've tanned here for years, and I will continue to for as long as I live in the city. Extremely clean! Great neighborhood! Open late!

Couldn't imaging tanning anywhere else!

by eeSOMA at Citysearch

I've been tanning on and off for 25 years, and I have to say that Radical Tan is the best salon I've run into. I travel extensively for work, will occasionally tan in an unfamiliar place just to keep my base, and am always glad to get "home" to Radical Tan. The owners, Teresa and Bernard, are warm, friendly, they always remember my name - they have the cutest kid on the planet! - and most importantly, they are KNOWLEDGABLE about tanning. I've been going there since January '06 when we were getting a base in anticipation of a trip to Mexico, and in the 2 years I've tanned there, I've NEVER burned. Bernard is always generous with a free visit or 2 when I renew a package, and Teresa and the staff and always there with a smile and warm welcome. I'm sure there are places that are less expensive, or have fancier surroundings, but I'm there to tan, and I'm loyal to good people.

  • Pros: terrific people, great results, very convenient location
  • Cons: none
