Cheesesteaks Rock!!!

I just learned of Jake's about 6 months ago, and I was skeptical when I heard the cheesesteaks were as good as in Philly. Having lived in Philly and frequented the famous Philly spots (Pat's, Geno's, Jim's on South St), I can honestly say Jake's Steaks ranks right up there with the best! People from Philly will say the bread makes or breaks a cheesesteak, and somehow Jake's has that great Philly taste!

Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is awesome for hanging out and watching a game, drinking a beer, and catching up with friends. All of the Philly memorabilia is cool. I'm not sure if my favorite is the huge mural of boat house row, or the actual boat hanging from the ceiling.

Check out Jake's when you get a chance. Maybe I'll see you there!

Yes, this is the one!

my first time eating here was back in 2006 before I moved to LA and never got good cheesestake as Jake's does. I moved back to the city last Dec and last week just got a chance to eat Jake's again, Meat, white american and onion! that's all i need in my cheesesteaks, Yummy! I will come back more often

Philly Cheesesteaks

I'm so great that they deliver to Financial District because i'm so bored with all the food around my office. I came here sometimes during the weekends to watch a game, grab a beer and stuff my stomach with 12' cheesesteaks whiz without (cheese whiz with no onions!) Waffle fries is so yummy but not for delivery though.. Also, i enjoy my toffee cupcake tastykake!

Jake's is Awesome!!!! They have the best philly cheesesteak in town. They have amoroso roll, they have tastykake and they delivery! I knew this place through my company luncheon. My boss ordered it for our holiday party to our office in Financial district. But I like to come and eat at Jake's because the place is nice and clean and they have philly decoratioin throughout the store. Lov'in it!

• Cons: Parking is hard:(

The small, modern eatery and bar lures hungry sports fans with eight- and 12-inch ribeye or chicken cheesesteaks, four beers on tap and a huge flat-screen TV. The mural-sized photo on the wall is of Boathouse Row on the Schuykill River, where owner and Philly native Jake Gillis used to row.

good stuff

definitely will come here again. service was friendly, prices were reasonable, but most importantly the food was awesome. the bread was thin but enuf to hold the generous portions of meat. onions and cheese perfectly blended in with the meat. barely had to chew it. so good! the garlic fries were a bit disappointing tho. the fries themselves were good but the garlic part wasnt quite up to par. and having beer on tap is a plus! oh yeah... the meat might be a bit on the bland side. but salt is readily avail.

Jake's steaks is great!

This is the best cheesesteaks in town i ever had! I always order 8" inch whiz with! I tried chicken Pizza the other day. It 's also very good!

At Jake's, they also have many side order for your selection, buffalo wings (from mild, hot, hotter to Fire!) I had Fire one time, but just to warn you. Do not dare it! Hotter is perfect for spice lovers!

Great sports bar and best cheesesteaks in SF

Jake's is a friendly neighborhood sports bar with 2 gigantic plasma and 6 beers on tab. My buddies and I were first drawn to Jake's for the 22oz beer for the price of 16oz (at other bars). We had a group of 10 people, so we called ahead to book one of the Plasma for our game. When we show up, we were greeted with friendly services, great sport bar atmosphere, and yummy cheesesteaks. Jake's staff even made complimentary green and orange (team color) jello shots for us. We keep going back as the beers, sports, cheesesteaks, and friendly services seems to fit really well. Oh...Jake is a superly clean place.

• Pros: Atmosphere, food, gigantic plasma
• Cons: Only 1 in SF

I have a great time whenever I stop in Jake's. The atmosphere is cool and the food is awesome! My boyfriend is from Pennsylvania and he loves Jake's. He says it's tops in cheesesteaks and I think the mural of Boat House Row makes him feel at home. I'll go there with him anytime. If you want to try something new, go for the chicken cheesesteak salad ! I went for that once and it was perfect. Guys, if you're worried about making your health conscious girlfriend go to a cheesesteak place with you, tell her they've got a great chicken salad version of a cheesesteak for her !

Definitely check it out !
