I grew up in Philly and this place takes me back to my days as as a kid. Now that I'm old enough to sit at the bar I'm all over those FREEEEE jello shots during the games. You just can't beat that.

WOW! I'm from New Zealand and I'm back home now. So glad I found this place on laundry day. I have been raving about the best thing I tasted on my travels to everyone here back home. Top Cheesesteak, met Jake, top dude. Awesome experience and great value for money.

Best steaks outside of Philly!

As a die hard Philadelphian, I thought my days of eating real cheese steaks were over when I moved out to the West Coast. I stumbled upon Jakes randomly, but I have been going back ever since. In all honesty, its 99% as good as some of the best places in Philly, without the hassle of having to actually go there. If you dont believe me, try it yourself! I promise you that you wont be disappointed.

• Pros: Amazing taste
• Cons: Sometimes too crowded. You're lucky if you go there without a line... (still worth it)

Great cheesesteak with unbeatable price!!!!!

The food there is tasty and the price is very reasonable. I shared a 12 inch sandwich with a friend and was still enough for both of us. The setting is friendly and energetic!! You just have to try this place out! For all you Philly cheesesteak lovers, this is THE place to eat!!

Jake's is aorund the corner from my place, I was really excited to find out it was going to open. Wings are good, cheesesteaks are good too but a little sloppy and the meat not chopped up enough for me. Best cheesesteaks if the city are from the The Cheesesteak Shop on divisadero and sutter. Even though Jake's is a block away, Cheesesteak Shop is just better and more authentic and that's where I go on Sundays for take out.

• Pros: good, affrodable, close
• Cons: mess up orders sometimes

Best "wiz with" cheesesteak outside of Pat's in Philly! The buffalo chicken steak sandwich, loaded with hearty grilled chicken, bleu cheese and tasty buffalo sauce, is dynamite as well.

Unreliable Delivery

Though the food is great I would be cautious about ordering delivery from them. When I first ordered from them it took them an hour to get to me when they said a half an hour. Little did I know that I should have been happy, because the second time I ordered from them they did not even show up and when I called to check on my order know one picked up the phone. I would recommed the restaurant only if you go into the restaurant or pick up because it is a great guilty pleasure in the city. Only get delivery if it is early in the night and you have time to go for other options before it gets too late.

Unreal!

Easily the best cheesesteak in the city. Have not been to Philly since I was little, but the cheesesteaks where I am from (Boston) completely dominated any place in San Francisco until I found this place. If the cheesesteaks in Philly are as good or better than this one, then I am getting on a plane and going there.

A BIG TASTE OF HOME

Honestly the best Philly Cheese Steak that I have ever had - yes as good as or better than in Philly.

Jake is great - you'll most likely end up staying for an extra beer while catching a game. If you live in the North East side of the Marina - it's the closest fastest food. I am very happy to have a new haunt around the corner!
