unfortunately i got a finger/nail infection at this place after getting a manicure. i don't think that is a frequent occurrence, and was reassured by the management that they will investigate to insure it will not happen to future clients. i liked the place very much other than that... it's cute. however, i still wanted to post to let others know so that it doesn't happen to you too!
Pros: cute atmostphere, nice service with neck warmer and hot tea
Cons: nail infection

This place is great! Right away, you walk in and you feel at home in the living room type ambience. They were on time, did not rush the mani/pedi and just let you relax with your sipping tea. And, of course, the mani/pedi job was very nice too. I highly recommend this place, in fact I may see you there!
Pros: great atmosphere
Cons: none

I travel a lot-mostly to manhattan and charleston. Always getting my nails done. I have to say tthis place sets the standard. Rose petals in the water to soak my feet, and got to pick out the scent of the bath salts for the water. My friend and i sat next to each other on a very comfortable sofa sipping the perfect cup of tea in the perfect cup. Incredible attendtion to detail and service.
Pros: service, comfort, atmosphere
Cons: location

Since moving to SOMA, I've been looking for a nail salon i can call my own. I've been going to this other one, which is only so-so, but my neighbor told me about Polished Lounge. What a gem. The place is beautiful. I've seen nothing like it before. They're friendly, and best of all, they're GOOD. Their prices are a steal for all the extras you get at this place. Best of all, my manicure and pedicure lasted two weeks. I'm a new fan.
Pros: Easy parking, On-time service, Lots of extras
Cons: None

I have been to the Polished Lounge thrice in the last year. I was happy with my first visit. The manicure was decent, ambience cute and it is a hop-skip-n-jump from my place in Soma. I went back for mani-pedi's the next two times and my experience has been nothing to write home about... The nail polish chips/ comes off almost immediately (in a day to a week in my case) probably because they do the job in such a hurry, the manicurist used her fingernails to remove excess paint from mine (Yikes! Please use a wooden pick or cotton) and the pedicure was ok but did not refresh my tired feet. Unfortunately, I did not find the much-acclaimed customer service as appealing either :( The woman at the counter found something smirk-worthy about my name/ profile that she wouldn't tell me about. That is rude and insensitive, not 'polished'. They offered sandals for some customers but did not in my case. Some consistency in service, please. In short, this place is not for the discerning customer.
Pros: Easy to get in for an appointment
Cons: Nail paint chips off in a jiffy

I took a friend here for a birthday gift and we were so pleasantly surprised. The decor of the salon was gorgeous, complete with extremely comfy chairs to sit in while getting serviced. the staff was very friendly and did a great job with our manicures and pedicures. Great ambience and great experience!
Pros: ambience, service, value
Cons: location

I am sorry to say I was somewhat disappointed with my first pedicure there. I was not wowed like I had hoped given the salon's 9.8 rating from CitySearch. PROS: friendly reception, beautiful interior decor, comfortabe seat, nice touches with the heated massage lotion and offerings of tea/water. CONS: reused nail file and buffer (yes, I can tell; this makes me wonder whether the metal tools were sanitized; I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness), the technician rushed with buffing my nail and callus and a a little rough cleaning under my nails with her tool. If I were to come back, I would most likely bring my own nail tools for my own peace of mind.

This is the cutest nail salon I've ever been to!! I love the little touches that make this place so great. The manicurists are so nice and very skilled. They alwasy call you by your name. They pay a lot of attention to detail here. I love the warm neck wrap , the tea, the rose petals in the water for your pedicure and they even offered to clean my jewelry! They always accomodate me with my appointments and everyone is so nice! The front is filled with cute jewelry, purses and the cutest baby gifts. This is my favorite nail salon in the city!
Pros: Cute, clean and excellent customer service
Cons: Parking at the meters

I love this place. I've been getting my nails done here since I moved from NY over a year ago. After reading about it in Daily Candy I had to try it and ever since I've been hooked especially now that I work around the corner. The reason for my review is that I recently planned a pre-wedding mani-pedi party there and was so thrilled with how it turned out I had to write about it. Because there were so many of us (18) they closed it to the public and allowed me to bring in champagne and wine. We had so much fun, the entire staff was so accomodating and delightful. It will forever live as a fond memory and completely enhanced a magical wedding weekend for me and my guests.
Pros: A wonderful staff who will remember you if you've been more than once
Cons: None

Sophia is the best!! I go there for a brazillian which everyone knows is never pleasant, but Sophia does such a great job and its the least painful job I have ever had. The atmosphere is really inviting and relaxing. I have tried so many places for this service and I have yet to find one that is as decent as Sophia (not to mention at a fraction of the cost!)
Pros: great staff, adorable ambience, prices
Cons: parking meters are a rip off (a quarter only buys you 5 mins)
