My advice, go some place else, here is why

by freesf

We were asked to wait outside, we were told that there was an over capacity issue, which we understood. While waiting for a long time other people were let inside just fine. I've live in San Francisco for many years and I have not seen this discriminatory behavir in a long time except this one.

Great Happy Hour

by martinsten

John and Collin are fun, outgoing bartenders who know how to run a business. I see all kinds of people in here for happy hour every week, and I keep coming back. They keep it real and change it up. Last thursday they were doing some kind of promotion for a new sake drink infused with fruit flavors, Sake2me. It was new and refreshing, and I actually went on line to see where I could buy it for my next get-together at home. I fully recommend checking this place out and maybe even finding a new cocktail or sake drink while you're at it.

  • Pros: fun, smart owner-bartenders always there to make it right
  • Cons: sometimes can get crowded

We LOVE John Colins. I have been there thre times, the latest with a group and every time has been consistently fun. The atmosphere is terrific and the music at a perfect level for visiting and meeting new people. The bartenders are cute, fun and constantly smiling. A definate must visit after work or late night.

  • Pros: Atmosphere, tunes, service.
  • Cons: Line at the bathroom.

Like no other

by somonkey

I trully love this place! Everytime I go in the vibe is great. The bartendars are friendly and make you feel like they are genuine. The music is loud at times, but not to the point where you can't talk or be heard.

Over all you need to stop by and try them!

Very small and nosiy bar. It is impossible to talk there, so don;t go there for a first date or something. There is parking by the bar. We went to there on Friday noght and it was flat fee after 5:30. So parking was easy and affordable. The parking attendent was already gone when we left about 1:00 am so we didin't pay for parking anyways.

The Bloody Mary here is like a meal

by jomia

Very tasty though. Good happy hour, kinda loud sometimes, but that's ok with me. Dark wood and leather, funny paintings hung up. For some reason, cute bartenders last time I was there. It's definitely kinda yuppy, but after a few drinks, everyone became friends no matter what their scene was. I really don't care anyways.

  • Pros: great happy hour
  • Cons: loud sometimes, lotta yupsters

meaning the crowd is pretty smooth, but packed in tight last couple times i was there (after work). given that it's a tad noisy, but have to give that up for the energy of the place

  • Pros: hip crowd, good drinks, pit bull paintings
  • Cons: noisy, packed

An unexpectedly chic and sultry bar nestled in a SoMa alley.

by Contributor

The Scene
This urban bungalow features a blend of industrial touches, like exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings, warmed up with sexy dim lighting, a leather-padded bar with matching stools and large kitschy paintings of dogs. Tall tropical plants serve as organic dividers between groupings of leather ottomans. The projected vintage or surfer flicks above the door are a nice ambient touch. The owners have been in the industry for a while, so the crowd includes fellow club managers and bartenders mingling with hipsters and SoMa workers.

The Draw
The bar staff is fanatical about cocktails, so it's a pleasure to work one's way through the menu of concoctions, in addition to letting them make special recommendations of liquors from the "floating" bar shelves. The Cherrybomb, a martini made with Effen Black Cherry Vanilla vodka, sugar and grenadine, is especially seductive. Although the environment is sleek, it's refreshingly unpretentious.
