I had business to do in SF, and brought my teenager with me. On the recommendation of a friend, I stopped by Teashi, and what a great experience for my girl....and for me. Loryn knew I might stop in, so she and her staff were ready and really went out of their way to be nice. They gave a great manicure and pedicure, a first for my girl. She was treated like a queen....and they were nice to me too. Also, the surroundings were beautiful. I'm happy to recommend Teashi.

Pros: Service, decor

I was greeted very warmly at the door and my mani/pedi was downhill from there. $55 is way too much to pay for rushed, minimalistic service. My toes were not adequately dried after the scrub/soak, so when the tissue was shoved in between the toes, it stuck. After the polish was applied I was totally ignored. No one helped me down from my perch, or to pull off the tissue, or to help me on with my shoes. This place is a rip and I will never ever return.

Cons: too expensive, rude service

They do great mani & pedi here, but I've been getting facials with Loryn recently, she is awesome, and so are her treatments! I've had great results with the peels she's been doing on me, the space is imaculate, and she pampers me to the nines w! Great massages too!

Omigosh I love this place I had the best manicure with Jennifer. The front desk was so helpful they were really all about service. The parking yeah it took about 20 minutes to find a parking spot. Other than that I really had a great time and I will most defintely book again.

Pros: Manicures, Service, Ambience, Cleanliness

Cons: Parking

Without a doubt the best pedicure I have ever had in my entire life. They spent a lot of time scrubbing--there was a lot of manual labor involved to spectacularly shape/prune/etc. my toes/feet. I thought my feet were in good shape before, but I couldn't stop staring at them afterwards--they looked like prosthetic toes or something. Manicure is excellent as well and lasted longer than any manicure I've ever had.

Tess at Teashi is the best esthetician ever! Originally, I started going to her for waxing-- she does my brazilian bikini, eyebrows, and lip wax regularly-- and, recently, I have started treating myself to occasional facials, which have also been excellent. I've been getting brazilian waxes for years and have seen several different estheticians, and Tess is, by far, the most thorough wax I've ever had. Also, she is sweet, down-to-earth, and super professional, and, even though I'm a regular, and she knows I will keep coming back, she does not skimp on the service at all or hurry through appointments. I had my first facial ever a couple of months ago, with Tess, and it was great. I did the Cherry Berry facial, which includes a chocolate mask, and afterwards, my skin was so soft and clear, I could not believe it. Then, last Sunday, I went for another facial with Tess-- this time I did microderm abrasion-- and it was also great. Again, my skin was super soft and clear afterwards, and the experience was totally relaxing. Teashi facials include an upper body (arm, neck, and scalp) massage, which I found really great. I have never had a professional massage before, so I guess my massage recommendation should come with that disclaimer, but, from my perspective, this was wonderful. Tess is also extremely knowledgable about skincare, and very honest. She doesn't pressure clients into buying products; if anything, she discourages me from buying stuff until I try a sample and see if I really like it. Tess spends a lot of time thinking about her clients' needs, and it shows. Since I have been seeing Tess, she has created a personal skincare routine for me, which has really softened and cleared up my skin, and she constantly checks in to see how everything is going. I absolutely cannot imagine a more professional, skilled, and attentive esthetician.

Pros: Great waxing and facials.

Cons: Cash tips only, but there is an ATM right across the street.

I am finally reviewing this spot after four visits. I am a spa junkie, and I have been to spas and salons all over the west and east coast, europe, and vegas. Teashi is a hip, cool and comfortable place to get a sub-par pedi. Their mani/pedi chairs are really comfy and they have in the ground sinks, so each client gets a sanitized bowl to put their feet into, with new water straight out of a regular faucet. On my last visit, The manager was working the front desk and came off as aloof. I upgraded my pedi to a deluxe and watched my best friend get a better massage with her regular pedi. Not to mention, my tech didn't even exfoliate the bottoms of my feet! When I brought this to the managers' attention she asked me how bad my feet were before the pedi!! OMG how embarassing. Since my pedi was officially "over" they carted me off to the back of the salon and sat me in a plastic chair and applied some callus remover and the manager called the tech back over to pumice my heels. Previous visits have gone better, with a nicer reception staff and a better pedi, but nothing to write home to mom about. It's been a few months since my last visit, so I don't remember anyones name, but I do know that my best friend swears by the massage technique her pedicurist gives her consistently every time she goes. I think her name begins with an E but I know she is the only blonde I have ever seen who works there. They also have a nice selection of retail: oils, creams and perfumes. If you want an awesome experience, visit the other nail place I reviewed.

Pros: beautiful environment, clean, easy to get an appt.

Cons: sub-par pedis

At first I was estatic that a place like Teashi existed in a city cramped full of small "takeout" nail shops. The decor is lovely and very neat. All instruments are sterilized and there is just a nice lady-like feeling to the place, but after a few months, the honeymoon has worn off. I was asked for a credit card number to make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure the other day. I felt a little uncomfortable about this since they also store this information in their computers but no cc#, no appointments I was told. So I gave in and went to my last mani/pedi at this establishment. What I received was what you would normally get for $18 in the city. The service was so rushed and so uncomfortable, I called the shop after my appointment to make a complaint. The manager really didn't do anything about my call and said that they would have a "talk" with the manicurist. For $45 (without tip) for a basic manicure and pedicure service, it's not worth the trouble of a rude staff.

Pros: Beautiful decor, very clean

Cons: Service

Lovely decor, soothing sounds, very elegant and welcoming. Perfect location to rest your feet and relax the soul. Highly recommend making an appointment though. One tof he best mani and pedi I have ever gotten in the city. There is nothing better than taking a seat in one of the plush chairs and letting someone else take care of your tired feet and hands. Just amazing! Parking around the salon is a bit tricky but try the side streets and you will definitely get lucky. Love the Japanese inspired name.

Loryn is simply amazing. I have had issues with adult acne and subsequent scaring -- my skin always looks significantly better after seeing her. She is very informed and always explains in a step-by-step process exactly what she is doing. The differentiating factor that Loryn offers is that she is 100% professional in her approach and her passion for what she does truly sets her apart from others. I dont trust anyone else with my skin.
