First I want to say that Penn was not the first person I tried a Brazilian Wax with. I tried others around the city and wasn't happy with any of them. Then I found Penn! Her space is great, quiet and very relaxed. The music she plays is very relaxing and definitely a wonderful addition to the experience. Her place is sparkling clean. Parking is easy less than a block away and reasonable. I am a woman of size and some waxers just don't seem comfortable waxing me or don't seem to know how to adjust for the size. Penn had no problems. We discussed how she might get here or there and figured it out together when she wasn't sure, I really appreciated that. Penn was fabulous! Penn uses this wonderful green colored wax that doesn't make you all sticky afterwards and she makes sure she cleans the waxed area completely. Speed is not the key here ladies, Penn is thorough! Checking to make sure she didn't miss any hair. (The person I went to before Penn I had to go home and pull out so many missed hairs it didn't seem as though I had gotten waxed at all.) I absolutely recommend Penn for any of your waxing needs. I was so impressed with her that I made my next appointment on the spot! I am sure I will be going back to her for a long time to come. Thank you Penn!

ok, so I had been wanting to get a brazilian wax for awhile mainly to suprise my husband but was too scared. i found penn through all the great reviews and....it was GREAT. i'm not going to lie and say i didn't feel a few of those strip offs, but i am a chicken when it comes to pain and after it's over, you forget about it. and let me tell you, the reviews from my hubby was SO worth it! Penn was really cool and did make me feel very comfortable considering the nature of our meeting. i know for a fact i will be booking another in a month and will try a facial as well. thank you Penn!

After reading some of her reviews on CitySearch, I made an appt. with Penn for my first ever wax. Wasn't sure if I wanted a regular bikini wax or the Brazilian and wondered if I should play it safe since it was my first time. I ended up opting for the Brazilian after I arrived at SkinSpace (super mellow vibe, lots of white, simple, nice music...) and meeting Penn (with whom I was pretty much immediately comfortable), I opted for the Brazilian. What a good choice! I'm sure that the level of pain involved depends primarily on 1.) the Waxer 2.) the Waxee's own tolerance for pain, but I really expected much worse. My eyes never even watered and Penn and I chatted the entire time. While there were a handful of less than comfortable strips, I think it was entirely worth it. It was def. less painful than my experience with laser removal and so much better than I anticipated, considering that I have thick hair as well. I would DEFINETLY recommend Penn to anyone. Even though I've never gone to someone else, I already booked another appt. at SkinSpace bc it was that great/smooth/thorough... I can't imagine there are any superior waxers in the city. And, Penn is super laid-back and funny too! Fair pricing as well. Try it!

This was my first time with a bikini wax, and it was PERFECT. I expected it to be so painful, but Penn's technique was so incredible, that it barely registered with me. She was so professional, and her calm demeanor was perfect. It ws a wonderful experience, and I would recommend her to anyone who asked. Plus, it's in a great location.

skinspace is a beautiful, quiet, light-filled, private space just off of union square. there is "mighty leaf" tea in the waiting room, and soothing ambient music. Penn herself is a waxing goddess... her technique is really fabulous - it was the least painful brazilian bikini i've ever experienced, and my bikini area was truly hair-free. she is very gentle, and her professional manner friendly. she makes you feel special.

I have been one of Penn's clients for the last four years. Words cannot begin to describe how fantastic she is! Penn knows exactly what she is doing and is a master in her field. She is professional, a perfectionist, charismatic and just simply wonderful! Those of you that have had "ugly" experiences with other estheticians should take a moment to simply check Skinspace out. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to bliss! Trust me...you'll thank me later! =)

This is the best brazilian waxing I have ever had! It was practically painless!! Penn knows what she is doing. I highly recommend her.

Penn goes way beyond expectations every time! I have been a client of hers for over 3 years and continue to travel to the city every 3 weeks for waxing because she is THAT worth it!!

I have been waxing for years and always felt nervous and dreaded the process before I started going to Penn. I always thought that beauty had to be painful...not so! Penn is kind, gentle and professional and her "bedside manner" makes you feel comfortable in what can often be a very uncomfortable situation. I'll start shaving again before seeing anyone else!
