Best food I've ever had!
by Sydius at Citysearch
I've been going here for years and I always order the same thing: lamb tikka masalla, garlic cheese naan, rice, and mango lassi. I can't come to San Fransisco without stopping by; it's simply my very most favorite food. I couldn't rate it highly enough, and its affordability is a huge plus. I'd be obese if I lived closer to this place.
- Pros: Lamb Tikka Masalla
Awesome Tikka Masala, Naan, Service
by Adam2000 at Citysearch
This place has awesome, reasonably priced curries, naan, and other tasty Indian dishes. The services is quick and friendly, and the free chai tea while you wait is a nice extra bonus. If you're looking for Indian food in the inner sunset, this is your place!
- Pros: Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan, Service
Family-style Indian restaurant brings home cooking to the Inner Sunset.
by Chelsea Sime at Citysearch
With walls painted in descriptive earth-toned scenes, diners at this curry joint might forget they're in the middle of a busy Inner Sunset strip. While visitors chit chat over a free cup of tea, friendly staffers serve up piles of tandoori-style meats, biryanis and, of course, plenty of curry for carnivores and vegetarians alike.
love this place

Tasty Curry rocks, plain and simple. Everything is cheap yet tastes like more expensive Indian food, Chai is free and everyone is super friendly. The owner is awesome as well, he thanked me for bringing people in even though I hadn't been there in at least 6 months, he remembered me; used to go in all the time when I lived up the street. I miss this place, wish their where Indian food this good in the Mission.
- Pros: Food, Service
- Cons: none
Delicious, inexpensive, big portions

I've been waiting a LONG time for an Indian restaurant to finally open in my area--and suddenly we have 4 of them! Tasty Curry is by far my favorite. I was probably one of their first customers. I've introduced friends and family to the place ever since. Yes, the restaurant is small and basically decorated--but I hate funding fancy decor via the price of the food anyway. I think the portions are huge--I always have leftovers that feed me for two days afterward. I've loved every dish I've had there but my favorite is the lamb curry, chickpeas & spinach and rice with a side of sesame naan and mango chutney. My idea of heaven. I phone in my order, pick it up 10 mins later on my way to work. The staff has always always been sweet and wonderful, friendly and welcoming. Yes, you do set up your own table but other ethnic restaurants do this too and it's not a hardship for the diner (you don't have to wash up afterward), makes it feel like home. They even had the tv tuned to the soccer playoffs recently. I've never been to India so I can't say if the food tastes authentic; I do know that it is superior to the Indian food I ate in NYC and to all other Indian restaurants I've been to in San Francisco. Only when Tasty Curry is too crowded do I surrender to one of the other Indian restaurants in the neigbhborhood (and one of them is only 1/2 block from my house) and I try to go only during off-hours when the UCMed crowds are not out feeding. They're also open until midnight so I can pick up food afer work (I work until 10pm). I am so glad they came into my life.
- Pros: Food is delicious, prices are reasonable, food is delicious
- Cons: Can be crowded during UCMed meal breaks, not open 24 hours a day
Fast, inexpensive, yummy indian food

A friend of mine told me to check out Tasty Curry and boy was he right. While it is a no frills restaraunt, the staff is always friendly and the food is always consistently good. This isn't your high end indian restaurant, and it isn't trying to be. It is good food and low priced, what more could you ask for?
- Pros: Inexpensive and tasty
- Cons: Portions can be smaller than like restaurants
Bad

Somewhat nice service -- small servings -- no credit card acceptances -- horrible flavors and rude patrons.
- Pros: Not crowded, Fast, Cheap
- Cons: Poor Taste, Rude service, Rude Patrons
TasteLESS Curry
by pathurisandeep at Citysearch
The food is very unhygienic and tasteless. We ordered chicken korma and we got 3 pieces of raw chicken just dipped in vegetable oil and served in oil - no Curry. Biryani was very soggy. I had a bad stomach ache that night. And more over this is NOT Indian Food.
Flavors of India

The ambiance is early breakfast nook, but the food is anything but. Some of the most delicious curries, dal, naan, and veggie goodies in San Francisco and very reasonably priced. The food at Tasty Curry reminds me of the fine small restaurants in India and Singapore where curry is a national pastime. Try the mango lassi, it's a refreshing drink with dinner.
- Pros: Great Food, Good Service, Inexpensive
- Cons: No parking, No ambiance, No beer
Tasty ideed!

Average atmosphere, keep in mind it is a budget priced Indian/Pakistani joint. Food is great, particularly enjoyed the tiki masala and tandori. Large menu, they cook the meat up front for all to see.
- Pros: not expensive, good food, cook the meat in plai
