User Reviews for Mind and the Machine - Personal/Sports Specific Training & Injury Repair

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Joel, the Master Trainer with Mind and the Machine, is an incredibly knowledgeable individual. He has a true passion for his work and appears to have a voracious appetite for learning. From my work with him and my observation of him with other clients, he has a very diverse approach to helping people meet their health and fitness needs. The facility he trains in, while small, has everything that one could need and more, and is way more private than a standard gym.

Pros: Very personalized, Convenient, Great Facility

I'm writing to comment on the last personal trainer I will ever need to use, Joel Hornsby. To say that what Joel does is unique is a huge and unfair  understatement. I am a 45 year old reasonably fit man who was tired of daily trips to the gym with no noticeable change in my body to show for my effort. Two months ago I started working out with Joel 2 or 3 times a week and the progress has been phenomenal. The six pack that I have always wanted is steadily beginning to take shape and my posture and sense of physical strength have markedly improved.  How? Because Joel designs exercises to stress more then one muscle group at a time.  Try pulling a cable across your body combined with a lower body rotation. Joel keeps your heart moving for a solid hour. -Phil, SF.

In working with Joel I have continued to be impressed with his knowledge and most importantly, his ability to turn this into functionally based, real world programs for a client base with a variety of skill and performance levels.
