We arrived in San Carlos well into the evening after a long drive and checked into our hotel, a Fairfield Inn. Tired and hungry we spotted Izzy's across the parking lot and walked over to get some dinner. We were happily surprised when we arrived there and were given a warm welcome and seated immediately (it was somewhat late in the evening). Our server was pleasant, helpful and friendly. My husband got a very good steak and I, feeling like a lighter dinner, got a chicken cutlet dish. Along with my chicken I chose the house potatoes. The potatoes were delicious, almost enough on their own to entice a diner back there; the chicken also was favorable and moist -- what else could you want? It was listed under lighter offerings but there was enough left over to bring back to the hotel and have for my lunch the next day also Everything about the meal was very good, as was the service, and the prices were reasonable for the fare. I will definitely return when I am back in the area.
Pros: good food, excellent service
Cons: ambiance average, out of the way area for most people
