i dont know what the other reviewer is talking about! Propeller is a super-friendly place, the owner is chatting with someone every time i stop in and he's fun and easy to talk to. i come by a couple times/month because there is always new stuff and they have higher end mixed with inexpensive pieces. there are always interesting and creative objects that i dont see in the other modern furniture stores in town plus items from local small scale designers - which i like supporting.
Pros: lively+colorful, creative, NICE sales people

I went to this store with an inquiry about a product and was subjected to what could possibly be the rudest service I've ever encountered in a store, not only by the salesperson, but by the owner as well, which is almost unheard of. The proprietors and staff here seem to be under the passe notion that acting disdainful, disinterested, and treating people badly makes them seem "hip". If you want a positive shopping experience (and isn't shopping for your home supposed to be fun?), there are plenty of places in SF where you can buy modern home accessories without encountering major attitude (Friend, Den, Therapy, I could go on). Skip this one unless you're a masochist.
Pros: cool merchandise
