Other than the fact that this place is ALWAYS packed and slightly slow to deliver because of the traffic, I can’t say a bad word about Taylors. I was a huge fan of their original stand in St. Helena, and now I’m a huge fan of their stand at the Ferry Building. There’s no question in my mind that the ahi tuna burger is by far one of the best sandwhiches I’ve ever eaten… I used to have to drive 2 hours to St. Helena to get it, but now I save on gas $. If you don’t have an important meeting to go to, you’ve gotta get the garlic fries—an SF favorite. Shakes are great, and for lighter fare try the grilled cheese, chopped wedge salad (I like the blue cheese dressing) or share the fish tacos. You really can’t go wrong at Taylors!

Pros: FOOD IS GOOD! FOOD IS GOOD!

Cons: Can be a long line/take a while to get food

By simply hanging around on a busy afternoon, I realized that the same person who cleaned the tables with a rag used his bare hands, shortly after without washing them, to move hamburger buns around the grill which toasts them. That said, it is clear management lack procedures in place to control tasks which should be seperated. I am unsure how often this disgusting event happens, but be sure to wash your bun before eating. One would come to expect high standards from such a place that charges premium prices. Eat with caution.

Pros: Sometimes tasty

Cons: DIRTY, rediculous prices, poor/slow service

I work nearby so I have eaten here more than a few times. I love it. The burgers are tasty fresh and crisp, and the chili cheese fries are yummy! I love that it is in (attached to) the Ferry Building too. It's nice to grab a burger and fries and sit outside and watch all the people walk by.

Pros: Tasty burgers.

Cons: Pricey burgers!

I wanted to hate this place...the name and theme don't appeal to me, and I figure we already have enough burger and beer joints in the city. BUT they won me over with their burgers and that patio. The BBQ Wester Blue Ring burger is really top notch -- it's a burger w/ big chunks of bleu cheese, bacon, bbq sauce, and a crispy onion ring on top (like a $7 version of the Carl's Jr. Western Bacon). To get more time out of your al fresco experience, I like to buy a bottle of the cheapest wine on the list ($15 or so) and camp in the sun for an hour and people watch. You order and pickup from a counter, so service is pretty invisible. I've been 5 times, and they haven't made any ordering mistakes yet. So I have to recommend them! Go with some friends on a nice day and enjoy.

Pros: The patio seating and the burgers

Cons: Crazy long lines during peak hours

This is one of my favorite places for burgers/fries/sandwiches. They have more of a selection than most on fries, among them yam/sweet potato fries. I have yet to be disappointed with this place!

Pros: food, atmosphere

A $12.99 fish and chips that is not even served at the table should be substantial and well-worth it. Not this insulting mess that was 90% bread. I guess we are paying for the cutesy little squeaking coasters and the idiotic name. Yikes!

This place is great on value. Burgers and fries are good with lots of variety. I sometimes tend not to eat hamburger buns because they lack flavor or get too soggy, but these here don't and actually taste really good. The sweet potato fries were good. If you opt for a bottle of wine- nothing fancy- their prices are very reasonable and if bringing your own... I think corkage is just a buck.

Pros: buns, inexpensive, outdoor seating

We go here just about every Sunday and have yet to be disappointed. Nothing beats a cheeseburger, Fries and Mint-Chip milkshake on a Sunday afternoon. I admit it's not the cheapest or fastest but it's ALL worth it!

Pros: Burgers, Fries, Shakes

Cons: Wait time

I have to say In N Out Burger tastes much better and it's about 1/3 the price. Taylors Burgers are too greasy.

Pros: Good atmosphere

Cons: Pricey

So, OK, all I've sampled at Taylors is their burgers and their cobb salad. And it sums up as: You get what you pay for! The Taylors burgers are the BEST I've had in this city. First quality meat (from Golden Gate Meat Company), plenty of it, cooked to perfection. So, OK you have to wait a long time for your order during peak hours, so just be forewarned and remind yourself that good things are worth waiting for! At Taylors the wait is worth every minute ! The staff scrambles to keep up with the demand anytime between Noon-2PM. If you are allergic to long lines and waiting for your food, then go outside of that "crowded" window and you should be just be fine. Just be sure to give it a shot and decide for yourself.

Pros: the food, the retro ambiance, the buzz

Cons: , In the pricey side
