The environment is great but I asked them to redo parts of my french manicure that didn't look right and all the lady kept on saying was that it is ok. I felt that they were rushing my service since it was crowded.
- Cons: Sloppy job due to people waiting; staff didn't pay attention to my needs

This place has great massage chairs (at least 5) and tables to do manicures. The music they play is calm and soothing. You'll be better off making a reservation before going though, since it can get pretty crowded. The service will be extremely poor when a lot of people are coming in. They want to get to everyone and will slack off on your nails. They missed all the corners of my nails..... I would only go back for a pedicure where you can't see their terrible, rushed quality or for their wonderful chairs. I paid $37 for a french manicure/pedicure. I should have said something, but i thought not tipping the woman was a sign.
- Pros: reservations, great chairs, selection of colors, relaxing
- Cons: crowded, sloppy when rushed

WHEN EVERY I HAVE A LITTLE EXTRA $$$ TO SPEND OF NEED SOME PAMPERING, I GO TO THIS ZEN. ITS GREAT AND THE STAFF IS REALLY GOOD.JUST CALL IN ADVANCE FOR APPT. SINCE THEY NORMALLY GET BOOKED UP QUICK.PRICES ARE SLIGHTLY EXPENSIVE BUT WORK IT.
PROS: GREAT PEDICURES
CONS: PARKING IS HARD TO FIND AND THE PARKING METERS ARE EXPENSIVE

I've been going to this spa for two years and I love it! I don't understand why the review before mines was negative because this place is great. I've tried many nail spas before and this one is the best. If you do go make an appointment and request for Tracy. She's the owner of the spa and is very talented. If you want a french manicure she is the person to go to. This place also had a spa lounge a block away and it is a fabulous place to get facials and massages. Linda is the person that does the facials and she is amzing! I go there every week so I know what I'm talking about. Go to this nail spa!!!

A girlfriend recommended this place so I decided to go several days before my wedding. When they did an acrylic nail on me, the lady was rough and to top it off, there were a bunch of airbubbles in my nail! I complained to management and the lady who did my nail told me it was "like that". I told her that the ones I have seen done by friends don't have all these "bubbles" in the nail. The management told another person to redo it again for me but I was disappointed. Also, my nails were in pain since they had to take off the first layer or acrylic. Management didn't do much to compensate what was done to me

I really was not too impressed with the Zen Beauty Spa on West Portal Avenue. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted and asked if you would like to have tea or coffee. I found that nice. When the lady did my mini facial, she would not stop talking. And her talking was incessant, non stop the whole entire time. The product that she used made my skin feel soft, but it was really nothing special. And the prices were a little high for the quality of work. Next time, if I want to pamper myself, I might as well do it somewhere thats comfortable for me. If I am going to pay that much for a facial, it will be with someone that can respect the mood.

I just gotta say that I LOVE this place. When I have the extra money to splurge, I make it a point to spend some time here. Even if it's just for a mini facial, it's soooo worth it. Of course, prices are a little steep but the service and the amenities more than make up for it. Their deep cleaning facial, along with a mini massage just takes all the stress out of your day plus some. I gave my sister a gift certificate for this place for her birthday and she just can't say enough good things about it.
