G squared
by Debra Phairas
Debra is amazing. My hair color and cut have never looked better. I get so many compliments on both. The salon is great, she is terrific and I love going there. PS I have fine hair and she makes it look thicker and shinier.
- Pros: Best Color/Cut in SF
- Cons: Parking
New in Town
by eastcoasttrans
I just relocated to SF from the East Coast and move into the SOMA district of SF and like everyone else I needed new peeps!!! Luckily G2 was close to my new place and even more luckily I was booked with Adrienne. She was such a hoot!!!! LOVED her and my new color and cut.
The salon in on the smaller side but very professional and a bit trendy. Adrienne took her time with me and I must say the results were awesome!!!
- Pros: Location and Saturday parking
- Cons: none

Fantastic Experience!

Just booked my first color ever with G-SQUARED -- Loved it -- Very natural blonde highlights -- and considering this was my first time, I'm surprising even myself with how happy I am with them. I will be back -- I guess that's the catch though -- you like them so much that you sign up for the service for life. (smile) Adrienne was my wonderful stylist -- very pleasant and very talented.
- Pros: Talented, Comfortable Environment
- Cons: None
My favorite colorist!
by SpiffyChickSF
Just wanted to give a shout out for my colorist -- Adrienne. I had gone to her at Bella Union -- loved her there -- and am now following her to G-SQUARED. She's the best! She's made me blonde, taken me back to my natural brown with carmel highlights -- and even (way back when) taken me to a rich dark brown. Each time she made me look completely natural (I'm not into the stripey look) -- and made me comfortable throughout the change. Two thumbs way up!
- Pros: Fabulous Colorist!
- Cons: None
Yea!!!! I found Adrienne!!!
by robbygrl
I was recently contacted by Adrienne to inform me that she has joined the staff at G-Squared. My girlfriends and I are excited as the last salon would not tell us where she is. Now I can have my fab hair back. It has been hard for me to trust people with my hair and especially my color but Adrienne is a true artist so she has certainly earned my trust.. Can't wait to see the new place... I have heard great things.
Saved from the worst cut of my life!!!!
by sandiegogf22
While I was visiting L.A. I decided to try one of those upscale hip salons in West Hollywood after reading about them in Style magazine. Upon the stylist recommendation I went for trendy, edgy, recent, textured Bob, or so I was told. Fast forward, I couldn't do a thing with it so that is when I called G-Squared and was booked with Jocelyne. She worked magic on my too textured cut and now I can at least get a brush through it and blow-dry it without breaking into tears. Thanks so much Jocelyne!!!!
- Pros: excellent cuts
My gut feeling was right on.

It's hard to choose a salon and stylist when there are so many to choose from. I selected G-Squared and ended up with Jocelyne. First of all. she is sooooo sweet and attentive. Then, she is also great with hair. We talked a bit and decided to go with a bit more daring color than usual. Presto... Ilove my color!!!!!! The salon is super cute and chic with many talented stylist in my opinion.
- Pros: atmosphere and talent
- Cons: evening appointments are a bit hard to get.
Even hairanoiacs will love this place

I've been highlighting my black hair with L'oreal highlighting kits since I was a teen. But after a diastrous series of haircuts (I left my regular stylist and was flitting around) I didn't want to take any chances with hair color. I just wanted everything to go well. I remember reading about Neil and his color wizardry in Allure, and I thought I'd give him a chance. What can I say about Neil? Charming, low-key, respectful. He looked at all the pictures I brought, told me what he thought would look right given what I wanted (trust me ? it was a tall and complicated order), and presto, change-o, I looked amazing afterward. (He even talked me into dying my brows ? a first ? and it was kind of a revelation.) I am going to go back for a haircut soon. If he's anything with scissors as like is with color, I'm going to be a happy camper when I leave. He was on-time, too, which you would think should go without saying but has not been the case for me the past few times I've had my hair cut. This place is professional and Neil (and I'm sure the rest of them) are skilled. Trust me. I've been to them all.
- Pros: Masters at color, on-time, friendly, down-to-earth, offer you a drink immediately
- Cons: Near the Tenderloin
My New Stylist: Debra.
by dariametyahoocom
Just moved out here from Florida about 6 months ago, and have been trying to find a steady hair stylist that can do natural highlights. I found G-Squared and Debra through a friend that has been seeing her for a while and I've always loved her hair, so I thought I would give Debra a try. I am so glad I did! Debra gave me the most natural highlights I have had since my last hair stylist in Florida. I couldn't be happier with the results and I really enjoyed my experience here. Give this salon a try!
- Pros: Talented Stylists, decent prices
- Cons: Parking can be difficult after 3:00
