I Had A Much Different Experience
by mel9440
My company uses Century Benefits Consulting as our 401k administrator. We are completely satisfied. The previous reviewer has a misconcepton about the type of work that they do. They work for ME. As an employer I try to keep costs under control. If an EX-employee were to for instance call MY attorney and ask advice about his time on the job before he was let go....would HE pay for that BILLABLE time? I sure hope so. I certainly don't want to pay that! So if they call Century Benefits & they spend time working on something they have to get paid & their contract is with me. NOT with Mr. EX-employee.
I find Michele at Century Benefits to be courteous, knowledgable & responsive to my needs and someone always gets back to me in a timely manner if I have to leave a message. They make things easy for me!
- Pros: Knowledgeable, courteous, efficient
My Benefits Administrator
by gteach
Century Benefits Administration-helps me administer my 401k plan. They're responsive to the needs of my business & knowledgable & helpful. The previous-reviewer is unclear-on-the-concept of what a TPA does. Third Party Administrators, administer retirement plans for plan SPONSORs-(employers)-NOT for the plan participants. Participants do not pay the TPAs fees and usually have NO-contact with them. MY employees are-NOT-allowed to call the TPA. ALL communication goes through-ME. I am THEIR-employer and I am in charge of what information goes where and to whom, and I pay the bills! I also do not want any ex-employees bothering my retirement plan administrator and running up my fees. The previous posting from someone doing a rollover-(an ex employee!!)-sounds like someone who has a gripe with their former employer-and is taking it out on someone else. I think the review is biased, it should be removed. I have contacted my TPA telling them about it
- Pros: responsive, patient, knowledable
HORRIBLE customer service
by tishstratton
They are the administrator for my former company's plan...trying to roll my 401k is taking much longer than usual. After several unreturned phone calls, I finally managed to get the owner on the line and she was nothing less than rude. She was unwilling to answer any questions or explain why her office took >30 days to process our request for a roll over. If you are looking for an organization that is customer focused... keep looking.
