good drinks, VERY crowded happy hour
by anabris
My friends and I went on a Friday after work for a happy hour get-together. The drinks were OK, but the place was LOUD and crowded. Between the music playing and the happy hour crowd, we could hardly hear each other! The place did thin out after happy hour, though. This is a good place for a drink before a show, but not during the early evening crowd!
- Pros: cheap drinks
- Cons: loud & crowded during happy hour
Cool ambiance, relaxed atmosphere, fab happy hour
by ard6
My friend & I had a great time here recently on a Sunday night. The decor is tasteful with orchids, a cool waterfall/waterwall thing and artful lighting. The bartender was totally friendly, the patrons were all having a nice chill time (late 20s-late 30s) with somebody passing around chocolate for everyone to share. We stayed for a couple hours talking at our table and enjoying the positive vibe. The drinks seemed a tiny bit weak at first, but at $2 a pop we could afford to keep drinking. The doorman was a gentleman, listened to our buzzed chatter and then helped us hail a cab in the rain. I forgot to tip him and feel really bad about it now. Next time, I promise.
- Pros: Friendly, great atmosphere, cool drinks
- Cons: Parking is tough so consider cabbing it
Hot spot in Hayes Valley
by ieatallthetime
Great bar - very hip, beautiful decor and killer happy hour! It's small, so prepare yourself for close encounters of the drunk kind with patrons, but all else is pretty damn cool. Reminds me of some lounges in la - but without the attitudes and beautiful people. Sorry - I have to be honest...
Awesome spot - check it out!
- Pros: Ambiance, Happy Hour Specials are awesome
- Cons: Location, Parking, Size
Cute and Cozy!
by lovesfun
So yesterday was Wednesday and a few of us from the office needed a drink to make it through the rest of the week. Thank goodness for Jade! It's a cute and cozy neighborhood bar. Nothing too fancy, so you still feel really comfortable relaxing on the leather couches or ottomans. FABULOUS happy hour and nibblers are offered. You can't beat $2 happy hour that lasts until 7:30. Plus the chicken satay skewers and ahi tuna poke lived up to their reputation. Easy street parking is a bonus!
- Pros: $2 happy hour; Jade Cocktail specialty drink is yummy; Easy street parking
- Cons: A bit on the edge of a questionable part of town
Easy/Trendy Hayes Valley Bar
by nips
Been several times... i LIKE it! Sure, it's pretty small, esp. right b4 a show (and gets pretty hot!) and getting seats can be tough, but if you want an easy/still fun bar that's a little trendy it's a great choice. Drinks are all good and bartenders are easy going... no cover!
- Pros: easy/fun, slightly trendy, drinks
- Cons: small, gets hot!, seating takes time
GREAT ambiance and GREAT service...
by ajess2713
I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a low key, relaxing, not trying to be too "hip" or "trendy" evening. This place has a hint of elegance, but also a cozy warmth, like being at home. The drinks are fabulous, esp. the Jade (it's silent but deadly!) YUM! And the service was perfect! This place definitely lives up to its name. It can be a bit decieving when you first walk in this place... you almost feel "This is it?!", but give it a shot, I did, and I had a GREAT time! TWO thumbs up to JADE!!!
- Pros: atmosphere, good energy, good location
A Must See (& Taste)
by kaseyjones
There couldn't be a better spot in the area (or the whole city for that matter) to really enjoy friends, food, drinks and the surroundings. The staff is amazingly friendly and talented, a pair that is hard to find here in SF. There is always a good amount of people in the place, but never so many that you have to stand in line to get a drink. Fast service and unique well-crafted drinks go hand in hand at Jade.
- Pros: Swanky, Unique, Tasty
- Cons: , Little Seating, Warm
Nice Spot
by sfoutandabouttonight
Stopped by for the second time the other night, really enjoyed it again. The vibe is not "ra-ra", but not mellow either, right in the middle. Perfect spot to meet up with friends and "feel cool" but not "jack-assed", if that makes any sense! Go weekdays and enjoy more elbow room.
- Pros: cool vibe, great prices, not too loud
great happy hour

I love the atmosphere, its a pretty chill bar, and the drinks are very reasonable and yummy...the jade martini is awesome. I went on a Sunday night when it wasn't crowded and I had a great time!
Happy Hour Water
by cutting
Can't believe the positive reviews I've been reading. You've got to be kidding. First time I went there, my Ketel vodka soda was overpriced and so watery. The other night, Sunday, I went back and saw they had a happy hour. Had a $2.00 well vodka soda. Guess I must have missed the bartender with the eyedropper. There was practically no vodka in there! I had two other people taste it in disbelief. Fooled me twice, never again.
- Pros: Waterfall decor
