Our Women's Running Group meets here about once a month
by Coach Stephanie
The WOW Team - Fit Women of the World meets at this location to start our runs. All women are welcome. From here we can go into Golden Gate Park, over to Lands End, along the beach, around Lake Merced, etc. In other words, this area offers lots of choices.
We're here about once a month at 8:00 on Saturday morning. You can get the details from our website at Go WOW Team. Thanks.
- Pros: Easy parking, lots of choices of routes
- Cons: Can be foggy, overcast and cold
Great place to bring our dog
by ed94105
Ocean Beach is a great place to bring your dogs to play with other dogs. There is a small dog group that meets there on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Usually around 50 dogs. The dogs can be off leash.
Pacific views and monster waves make San Francisco's largest beach a surfing favorite.
by Gina Goff
In Short
This sandy strip, totaling four miles of Pacific Ocean shoreline, runs from the famous Cliff House restaurant to Fort Funston at the southern border of the city. Despite the often blustery weather, it continues to be one of the most popular hangouts for sunbathers, joggers and surfers. Swimming is unsafe along this section of the Pacific, though wetsuit-clad surfers are regularly seen braving the riptides.
