I got a pedicure there just last night and the experience was great. The atmosphere was clean and relaxing, the pedicurist (her name was Jean) was great, very professional. Everyone was was very nice, and the prices were very reasonable. I would go back in a heart beat.

I used to go to a more expensive salon (guess which one) but tried Silk at my friend's advice. I'm normally a sanitary freak and am typically afraid of small, cheap nail salons but was impressed by the friendly, english-speaking staff, hospitality (beverage selection), extensive menu, fantastic (high-end) polish selection, amazing massages and clean facilities. I LOVE T's waxing, and Amy and J are so sweet. I am a mani/pedi fiend and go weekly so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. The only problem is that I just moved so it'll be a trek to get to them but it's SO worth it.

  • Pros: Clean facilities, awesome massages, great polish selection and extensive menu
  • Cons: Only one location (open more!)

I have been getting brazilian for years. This is the best place. For 30 bux, you get a clean wax, and its quick. I would dare to call it cheap, but that makes it sound like rubbish. I usually am all red and swollen for hours, at Silk, I wasnt irritated at all. I also usually get ingrown hairs, and have to endure the burn and stink of TendSkin. I never got one even irritated pore. Its been three weeks, and with the exception of a few stragglers, I will brobably have to wait another 3 or 4 before I can wax again. I have never written a review, and I thought I had to share.

  • Pros: Brazilian
  • Cons: NONE

I have been going to Silk Nail Salon for years and as most of you all know they are great! But I had to most amazing experience there last Saturday that I wanted to share it with all of you. First and foremost I had never been on a weekend before and couldn't believe the spread of food that they had for everyone to enjoy. There was granola and fruit, hummus and pita, cookies, croissants, etc. Secondly, as I was getting my pedicure the owner noticed that I was getting a parking ticket because I was so relaxed that I forgot to ask her to feed the meter. She felt terrible even though it was clear that I could have cared less. As I was leaving admiring my newly manicured nails and toes she stopped me and gave me a gift certificate for a free pedicure. Even though it was not her fault that I received a parking ticket she felt awful and wanted to make up for it. I was more then shocked. It was totally unnecessary, but the best customer service experience that I have had anywhere. I usually only get a manicure and pedicure there on special occasions, but she's made a customer for life. I'll never go anywhere else. Thanks again Silk!

I have been all over the city and Silk remains my favorite place. They have the little details down (heated lotion, hot towels, candy) and they give the best and longest massage which is my favorite part. Plus, the polish lasts forever, much longer than at other salons. Bottom line is that this is the best place to go, especially considering the price!!

  • Pros: Great massage, nice employees who do not talk amongst themselves!!
  • Cons: Sometimes you have to wait for a spot at the drying station, but never long

Silk is the best nail salon in San Francisco. The owner Jade treats every single customer like royalty. From the saturday snacks, to the candel lit restroom with high end products, to the lavander foot baths and warm lotion to massage you hands and feet. All of it is first class. I don't think I have ever waited more then a minute to be seated (Unless I was late) and even then, I was accomodated. It is a Saturday morning tradition and treat for me and my partner to go to Silk after a stressful week. We go upstairs to the triple platinum VIP lounge (not really, but it feels that way) and drift off to over an hour of pampering.

Highly recommended. Anyone who does not appreciate this place has a complex of some sort. The owner and the staff always make sure you are happy. For the ladies there is high end nail polishes (none of that walgreens stuff) and for the guys, they will buff your nails so bright the look like brand new.

  • Pros: Snacks, massage, Attention to detail
  • Cons: Parking, but that is San Francisco for you

For my birthday, my friend treated me to a mani/ pedi at Silk. I was excited to have my hands and toes done and enjoy some QT with my pal. This was my second visit to Silk and I will never go back again. I have never had a worse manicure in my life. It is a good thing the spa has all of their sanitation machines on display because the woman cut me in four places. Besides the bloodshed, she also filed the tops of my nails leaving hatch marks that are visible through the polish. I cant imagine that this is the kind of service that people rave about. The pedicure was fine... I have no complaints in that regard.

  • Pros: decor, snacks, polish selection
  • Cons: manicure, parking, atmosphere

I love Silk Nail Spa. I've tried many other places and found the best to be Silk. I am always treated well and they give the best foot massages! Ask for Lisa. While other nail places give a whimpy or quicky massage, Silk out performs and does a great job. I am now a weeky regular and find my visits to Silk as great way to end my stressful work week. Coming in on a Saturday morning to a spread of wonderful snacks and drinks makes it even more of a treat.

Extremely clean, soothing music and comfortable chairs. Personally, I find the staff to be friendly and professional, and NOT talking the way they do at most of the inexpensive nail shops. Amy at the desk is very attentive. She even saw the meter maid appraoching my car, averting a very expensive addition to my day! I keep coming back, even though it can be hard to get a last minute appointment, because of the great service, the excellent choice of polish (Chanel, YSL, OPI, etc.), the comfortable surroundings, and the CLEANLINESS! Great value!

PROS: Clean, friendly, peaceful, great polish choices.

CONS: Restricted street parking during afternoon rush hour.

I've been meaning to try Silk for years, but with all the recent trendy cute looking nail spas popping up I've ignored Silk. Well shame on me! I've been to Teashi, Lavandi, and other places and although they may have the posh look, Silk's know how to do nails. I'm super picky and whenever I walk out of a place I'm not 100% happy with the mani or pedi and feel ripped paying 40-50 bucks with Silks I looked at my nails and they were perfect. The girl even helped me pick out my colors and sampled them on a few nails before she started. The service is super friendly and of course they have snacks to much on. They were super busy, but I didn't feel rushed at all. I'll def. be back as a regular.

  • Pros: mani/pedi, service, cost
  • Cons: none, none, none
