Spectacular Entertainment!
by dramajane at Citysearch
Dinner was great and the entertainment was fantastic--truly spectacular. Great jaw-dropping stunts, magic tricks, romance, and comedy. The waiters made me feel like a VIP. My date spilled red wine on my dress and the waitress immediately told us exactly what we needed to do to get it out--and then proceeded to get it out herself! The stain was almost gone by the time we left and I hardly noticed I was having so much fun.
I can't wait to go back (and maybe bring another date).
- Pros: The show, the food, the service.
A new blossoming local tradition

As a 5th generation San Franciscan, I was leery of going to this show given the number of tourist traps that have come and gone. However, from start to finish I realized how great this show is for tourists and locals alike. The show and menus are changed frequently so it's always fresh. I found the food to be quite good given it's a banquet style where over a hundred are served simultaneously. Everyone in the house gets into the show including random volunteers and a strategically placed group dance number to help stretch those legs out (much needed). It's a small, comfortable venue but somehow on a tiny stage they get acts from Cirque de Soleil acrobatics to juggling to singing dancing and wonderful comedy bits. Great for young adults to old (13 and over). A great alternative for those of us who have seen Beach Blanket 400 times.
- Pros: Easy parking in back, Non-stop entertainmen
- Cons: Random service charge
San Francisco's one and only dinner-theater spectacle puts some zing in your ziti.

The Scene
Set inside a vintage 1920s tent and performed Las Vegas-style--with cabaret singing, small tables and an impressive mini-orchestra onstage--this zany production is filled with slapstick characters who tease audience members. Acrobats, body jugglers and trapeze artists astound with feats of derring-do, while graduates of clown college do their funny-scary thing.
The Food
The show also features a multicourse meal, which may include flying pies. In fact, the entire Teatro ZinZanni experience is something like a pie in the face: silly, slapstick, lightweight fun that urges us to take life just a bit less seriously. While lactose-intolerant folks might want to avoid the food and the show (read: high cheese factor), both provide showbiz sustenance for high-calorie revelers.
Truely original entertainment

Just go! I've never been entertained like this in my life. It's not cheap, but actually it's a value considering you're spending the entire evening and will remember it forever. Everyone in the room is part of the performance, in the hands of very talented, creative artists. Funny, thrilling, delicious, soulful, colorful. If it's your last $100, go to Teatro Zin Zanni!
- Pros: delicious, classy, funny
- Cons: expensive
