Fantastic, unique, world-class boutique full of tasteful one-of-a-kind items

Oceana Rain has always been my go-to spot for big events. But lately I've been dropping by just to see what's new and find myself buying more frequently, albeit I'm buying more informal items (a sweater last week, ear rings and a bracelet this).

This small boutique fits more A+ selections inside than the size of the store would suggest possible. The reason is that there are NO duds in here. The buyer(s) are clearly VERY selective as to what it takes to earn space on their shelves. As a result it is a one-stop shop for everything formal or edgy-informal.

Everything I've bought has worn well, both in terms of style and quality of manufacture. The help is top notch, honest, and has always gone the extra mile to make shopping fun and rewarding. SF would be a better place if more stores like Oceana Rain Apparel existed. No more saving to do my shopping in NY or LA, let alone London or Milan (especially with the dollar where it is!).

Best selection of women's clothing anywhere. Outstanding and professional customer service just like having a personal stylist!

I've been shopping at this little gem since 1999! I can't tell you how many complements I get on a regular bases on the beautiful clothing, shoes and jewelry I have purchased from Oceana Rain. The merchandise is so lovely and unique yet wearable and trendy. I have clothes that I keep pulling out of my closet from years ago that are still fab! Some of the items are very special and hand sewn with high quality fabric they can be more expensive but still reasonable. You get what you pay for here. I am thrilled that the owner brings in hard to find lines from America and over seas. You'll even find made in america here too (hard to find these days). I have a weakness for dresses, if you love dresses you'll be even more impressed! The staff is super friendly and knowledgable, they are like personal stylists and have helped me many a time put together outfits. I have even brought in merchandise form other stores and they have helped me pair up some pretty awesome outfits. The owner is very sweet and helpful not to mention very talented at designing, buying and managing this boutique. Her staff seem to be college students and when they graduate from college you'll see another lucky soul getting an opportunity to work in the fashion industry from one of San Francisco's finest fashion leaders! I highly recommend this shop if you haven't been yet you are missing out.

European Chic meets Californian Cozy

I love that Oceana Rain has hard-to-find most coveted brands. I love the Fall Merchandise (08) check them out! They're French lines so totally chic but AFFORDABLE!

• Pros: It's on Fillmore where all the other boutiques are.
• Cons: You would want to own everything there

Worst Customer Service Ever!

The exceptionally atrocious treatment that I received in Oceana Rain yesterday has inspired this review.

We had come into the store with a $20 off coupon and I showed it to the owner as I was making my purchase. She immediately remarked that as long as what I was purchasing was over $20, before tax, that the card would be acceptable. Then, as she went around to ring me up, she had second thoughts and changed her story stating that my coupon was outdated and, while showing me a new coupon, tried getting me to purchase an additional $25 in order to make it valid.

When my boyfriend pointed out that she should honor our coupon (with no expiration date and no contingency statement) as a written contract, she scoffed at us and asked if we were going to take her to court for not honoring it. When we pointed out how unlawful it was to switch our coupon with the new one, she sneered and remarked, ?Oh, what! Are you a lawyer or something??. Then she accused us of not being good supporters of small businesses and tried to belittle me for what I was buying and, in her opinion, how little money I was spending in her store.

We couldn?t believe her nasty attitude and snide remarks. If there were negative ratings on Citysearch I would rate this store a -5 for ridiculing and verbally assaulting customers for no valid reason.

• Pros: I'll never have to go there again.
• Cons: REALLY REALLY BAD SERVICE. SCHEMING PERSONALITY.

Italy in S.F.

I was given a gift certificate for my birthday and found Oceana Rain to be a wonderful store to shop in. They have a great selection to choose from and the staff was very helpful. The items I purchased are high quality and extremely unique. I will be going back for sure.

Cute basics and stunning party dresses

This store has the best service and a highly attentive and knowledgeable staff. I love how intimate and honest my shopping experience is here. Come here to get a party dress for fun or for any event, the staff will help you sort through the full racks to find exactly what you're looking for, from high fashion to jackie O classics.

This is my favorite store in San Francisco. I always find something unique. The dresses are stunning. The buyer finds the trendiest collections. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about fashion. As soon as I get an invitation, I dash to Oceana Rain.

Amazing selection and diverse buy

Oceana Rain has become a must shop. Originally I made a point to stop by whenever I was in the marina, I now make trips to the area just for Oceana Rain. The buyer has brought in lines I can not find anywhere else and there is an assortment of clothing that works for going out on a friday night, brunching on a Sunday, a cocktail party, or a really formal event. Ive been amazed at how helpful the staff is, they have on many occasions picked out things I hadn't noticed, or wouldn't have chosen for myself but now love! This boutique isn't the average Fillmore or Union street selection, it's worth stopping in.

Birthday presents were great!

I was in desperate need of a great present for my girlfriend and was told I needed to go to Oceana Rain. They totally hooked me up. The staff new just what she would want and even got the size right. My girlfriend was so pleased she went back on her own and said she couldn?t believe she hadn?t been their before. She?s now regular and as for the birthday? Well let?s just say she let me know she was very very thankful.

The best boutique shopping in San Francisco. The store?s selection makes you look and feel like million dollars

Stylish, perfectly toned to European standards selection.

When I walked into the store I felt as I was, once again, in Milan.

People at the store had a great knowledge of the latest fashion trends, offered tasteful suggestions and were extremely friendly.

The store?s selection of cocktail dresses, sweaters, skirts, business-casual attire and accessories offered exactly what I was looking for: the mystic touch of beauty and classic cut of sophistication.
