good romantic date spot

by trickywoo2 at Citysearch

Tasty gelato. I like to get the espresso/gelato combination which is called affogato. Good spot to go before/after a movie at the Clay or Kabuki.

  • Pros: tasty gelato espresso
  • Cons: a bit small on inside

Bring your buddies along after you've spent the day shopping along Fillmore St.

by meeshortie at Citysearch

It's a cozy little place, great to unwind after a long day of shopping. They'll let you sample all the flavors, but you need to try the pistachio...it's awesome. There are tables outside if you choose to soak up the sun as you snack on your treats. I'd go back with my friends any day...provided there is parking on the street somewhere.

  • Pros: Great treats, variety of flavors to choose from, packed take-home pints available
  • Cons: Parking scarcity, during the midday it can become an oasis for an abundance of kiddies who take up the seats...

Charming gelateria and cafe featuring fresh, fabulous gelato and sorbets.

by Joanna Currier at Citysearch

In Short
A marriage of Italian and Argentinian gelato-making produces this dense, creamy product created by local artisans. Up to 25 flavors are available daily at the flagship cafe, where choices range from chantilly cream to rich dulce de leche to traditional Italian, chocolate, exotic and fruit flavors. Tiny round tables, rotating local art, and outdoor seating provides Fillmore-style neighborhood people-watching with your cup or cone. A short menu of paninis and empanadas is also available.

HARD TO CHOOSE JUST ONE FLAVOR

by milkyaqua at Citysearch

There are other places in the city for gelato but this is one of the best. When it's on the menu, get the cherries and cream gelato. I like the coconut w/choc chips and the caramel swirl gelatos and the coconut and the blackberry cabernet sorbettos (so many good choices). Be forewarned though, this stuff is not cheap. You can get a cup or cone or they will pack some to go. They have seating and a menu with shakes and things like sandwiches and cookies and cakes, coffee, etc.

  • Pros: choices, cherries&cream
  • Cons: pricey

Almost like Italy!

by CatReview at Citysearch

Although you don't get the same size as you would in Italy, you definitely get the quality. Yum, Yum!

  • Pros: in the neighborhood, great tasting
  • Cons: not as big as Italy
