Hip and Happening Little Venue. my girl and I got to experience this place twice. We found it as wandering tourists out on a weeknight, and returned on a busy weekend. This place doesn't showcase live music but they had some kind of IPOD game. You submit it and they play your tunes until some one "gongs it". If you get away with 25 minutes w/ out being "gonged" you get a free drink. Late night weekends are crowded. That night feature d a killer rock&roll show, where this crazy mexican psychobilly bartender literally lights the bar on fire, dancing around to the tune of GNR's welcome to the jungle. It was an Awesome show in itself! Some of the regulars told me this was a typical weekend. Appearantly this place hires rockstars... that are also fast and friendly. in the hetero/CustomerService- atypical SFrisco kind of way) The place has no food, BYO seemed to be acceptable. I wolfed down some righteous fish tacos from nearby Nicks Crispy Tacos in plain sight of the barkeep w/out complaint. Their selection of single malts was limited, so I explored a couple of their house specialties. The Sasquatch is an aptly named monstrosity that's a definite B-ng for the Buck. Its a palletable kick in face. Out of curioustiy I tried my girlfriends "girl scout cookie" another creative house specialty. twas A mint choclaty girly drink served in a martini glass. Props for aesthetics, creativity a drinkability. Props on atmoshere and style. Hip Kitchy- 1950's camp lodge, retro kind of style. Female bartenders wear cute girlscout outfits. The lighting accentuates the wood log cabiny interior while making it comfortable and intimate. Respect their landmark Sasquatch in the back. I was told Molesting it can get you 86'ded. . All in all a good experience. Well priced, Excellent music. .............
Pros: good service/ good prices/ unique ambience and entertainment value
Cons: need better selection of single malts/ no food

Who knew? This place is fun to go to when you don't want to be surrounded by guys in crisp, collared shirts. Drinks are cheap, music is good, but it is kind of small. Quirky little neighborhood bar.
Pros: Cheap drinks, good music.
Cons: Small.

I really can't say enough about this place. I love each and everyone of the bartenders, the regulars rock, and the music is fantastic. I agree that it is sometimes best to stay away on the weekends, depending on your mood, but if you do that, you will miss them lighting the bar on fire. If you go, ask Abel for a Montana Red. See you by the pool, Spence.
Pros: Bartenders, Regulars, Music/Fire
Cons: not enough tp

Yes, they did it on purpose. Good spot, nice and dark inside. Quietish on weeknights with cool locals and great sexy-voiced bartender Liza. Weekend crowded just like every other place in the city.

Hmmm. The review, like most from this SF citysearch writer, is staid, stylistically dry and really boring. Who uses the rather weak term "kooky" in a bar review anyway? Anyway, this liquor-laden lodge does resemble an eerie "Twin Peaks" episode, and, after about six of their strong drinks, your night will no doubt become just as confusing as well as unforgettable. Beware weekends: the crowds seem to have found their favorite Polk Gulch haunt. Unless, of course, you don't mind rubbing elbows (and other protruding body parts) with a friendly stranger.

Great atmosphere, stiff drinks and great tunes from the DJs. What more can you ask for? If you haven't been I would recommend adding a trip with friends to Bigfoot on your "to do" list.
Pros: Friendly crowd, Pretty people, Stiff drinks

My girlfriends and I had a blast here. The bartenders rocked, and made us all crazy shots with secret names. I highly recommend.
