This store has the Best Cakes in San Francisco. The chocolate Tower cake is to die for, very moist and very rich in flavor. A good selection of breakfast stuff from brioches to french toast all made with organic products. in fact all there products are 100% organic. Pretty cool.

World class sandwiches, literally from every part of the world. I particularly liked the hot pastrami sandwich with monterey cheese. Melted right in my mouth.
Nice surprise

I have worked 3-4 blocks down the street from DeLessio for years and never knew about it. I then stumbled across it on Citysearch last week- what a surprise! My only issue with DeLessio is the large variety of tempting and great looking lunch options. I finally decided on a slice of meatloaf, a scoop of mac & cheese and a cup of tomato soup. The meatloaf was flavorful, the mac was cheesy and the soup was creamy, spicy and delicious. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed sitting on the patio outside with limited street noise. This spot will now be in my lunch routine.

I have used Delessio on several occasions for catering, and I love the pastries. What I don't like is waiting in line with the retail customers and then ordering 30 pastries. They don't allow me to pre-order, nor have it charged in advance. Everytime it's a time consuming ordeal that inconveniences me. I use 3 other caterers and they are all more customer friendly. If you want to buy 1 pastrie, this place is for you. If you are looking to use them for catering, go somewhere else.
- Pros: pastries, coffee, buffet
- Cons: service, ambiance, catering
Delicious Homey Food, Warm & Cozy Setting, Friendly Staff

The interior draws you in with its cozy and bright yellow and red Italian-inpired decor.
Savory dishes and salads are self-served from a central buffet and taken to the register to be weighed. There is quite a variety of entrees and side dishes - all is well and thoughtfully prepared with nice spicing and lots of home-made goodness (if your home was a large well-fed Italian family).
Yummy deserts and coffee-drinks are served up from behind the counter. This place closes pretty early, so it is mainly a lunch place or early dinner. Don't go too close to closing as the line gets a bit picked-over at the end of the day.
Things can get crowded right at lunch hour, so schedule a visit a bit out of synch with the office lunch crowd. Seating is limited, but they do a thriving take out business and they also have several tables outdoors in a protected tent-like enclosure.
- Pros: quick, flavorful and well-prepared home-style food
- Cons: Not for those who require table service
This bright gourmet bakery and market packs in the crowds for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In Short
The narrow, cozy space is dominated by two tables heaped with prepared dishes, including an ooey-gooey mac 'n' cheese, meat loaf topped with smoked tomato chutney and more. But the fresh-baked desserts are the real star attraction: Adorable mini cupcakes, sinfully rich cakes, house-made chocolates and sugar-dusted cookies are impossible to pass up. Gourmet cheeses, coffee drinks and an olive bar round out the offerings. Seats are sparse (takeout is a popular option) but on sunny days, grab a spot on the patio.

Picnic? Friends expecting a "home-cooked" meal? Hungry and in a hurry? Want a low-key, no-fuss, gourmet action dinner? This place has *never* let me down for gourmet stress-free take-out and quickie lunches on the sweet little patio.
- Pros: fast, delicious, gourmet
- Cons: if you like slaving in a hot kitchen and having dishes to wash, you're out of luck

Amazing cakes, and some great wine bargains only complement my favorite hiking sandwich - the Cuban Pork. Oh, and don't forget to try the mini-cupcakes. Can't wait to try the new location.
- Pros: Attentive and accommodating, outdoor eating area
- Cons: Closes early

What a great find. I highly recommend Delessio Market for everything. The Lemon Decadence cake is to die for, the cupcakes are fantastic, sandwiches, and to top it all off the service is friendly - not what I was expecting at all. What a treat. And the bubble wrap chocolate is great too.
