glorious merchandising!

They house an impeciable collection and have glorious displays. There is something for everyone here, from children to adults. The landscaping area in the back is also quite impressive. There is no other store on the West Coast like it. Only drawback? The staff could be a little less pretentious.

Part art gallery, part garden shop, this peculiar place is full of exotic merchandise great for gift giving.

Paxton Gate is a curious and enchanting treasure trove of unique gifts and traditional garden fare. If you're looking for yard supplies, they do have them: pruning shears, pots, bulbs, potting soil. But the real fun here is the strange selection of stuffed and mounted animals, Ammonite and Trilobite fossils, glass eyes, and beetle and butterfly collections. In fact, Paxton Gate boasts San Francisco's most extensive selection of dried and mounted exotic insects.

definately worth the trip!

this store has such a great selection of items you simply will not find anywhere else! i have never walked in there and not gotten anything b/c there is always something that catches my eye.
