Late Friday night w/ the girls for some dessert - Chocolate Trio 8 (Dark chocolate bundt cake, Milk chocolate crme brulee, White chocolate-espresso parfait); Warm pear tarte tatin w/ Caramel sauce & Cinnamon Gelato; and the seasonal sorbet. All were yummy except for the cracker/cookie that accompanied the sorbet. Service was crap. We felt rushed out by the waitress and the busboy despite the restaurant not closing for another 1.5 hours. Live music is a nice touch! Not busy on a Friday night...perhaps of its location?
Pros: free parking after 5, dessert menu, ladies' restroom
Cons: poor service, prices, snobby staff

I took my parents here for dinner on a Friday evening when they were visiting from out of town...they loved it! My mom loved her tuna steak and my dad split a 2-person steak special with me. I would definitely go again, since it is conveniently located near my work.

I took a few of my VERY picky business clients out to lunch at the Cosmopolitan and I they couldnt believe how delicious the food was, how knowledgable and friendly the service was and how swanky and fancy the atmosphere. They loved it so much we came back later in the week in the evening when they had live a piano. They even validated our parking which is a gem in the financial district, theres a garage next door, so convenient. Everything was pretty fast in the day too, but we took our time in the evening. They have a great happy hour. Ill definitely be going back for after work cocktails. This place is fabulous!!!
Pros: Live piano, 1/2 off wine specials

A friend and I took to the streets of SF one night in search of a new place to try. I remembered a conversation with a nice woman during last year's ski season. She told me that her son just opened a restaurant in the SoMa area called Cosmopolitan Cafe. We took a risk that definitely paid off. I found the menu and surrounding to be comfortable and intimately dazzling without too much pretense. I would definitely return with a date. The prices were reasonable compared with other options in the area. The only drawback was the noise from the bar. There was a game on and the raucous fans drowned out our conversation. We had a movie to catch anyways and the noise helped us stay focus on devouring our dessert. Check it out!
Pros: Intimate surrounding, Elegant decor, Great menu selection
Cons: Noisy bar area, Not bargain prices, Lacks a good view

This is a great place to go for reasonably priced cocktails & eats. Love the martinis in general. Huge fan of their lemon drop martini. But the food is good to. The salad of arugula is great, as well as the calamari and frito misto appetizers and the warm salad of fingerling potatoes.

Good food, (try the day boat scallops) cool bar scene, friendly host, and servers. All at a reasonable price. This hidden gem in the Rincon Center is a must visit for locals and tourists.

I've been to The Cosmopolitan Cafe for happy hour and enjoyed great apps, drinks, fun music and dynamic people. Going to dinner there with my husband was even better -- we had a top-notch dinner with incredible wines and finished off the romantic night with made-to-order cobbler. Highly recommend ...
Pros: Great atmosphere, Inventive foods, Wonderful service

I have been to Cozmo's corner many times & enjoyed each visit. So when I tried the Cosmopolitan Cafe for my first visit I was expecting excelence. My expectations were exceeded and my companions were impressed with my choice for the evening. What surprised me the most was the elagence and sophistication of food, ambience, and service that was balanced by a simple and generous approach to dining. The Heirloom salad was giant and so wonderfully dressed I could have had two more as my entree. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. However, my favorite part of my meal was the banana gillette (to die for) as desert. I recomend the Cosmopolitan Cafe highly for it's comfort and elagence -- I will be returning.
