Best Mojito in San Francisco
by Smitty101
The Cigar Bar is by far the best place to go for Mojitos that I've found in SF. The entire place opens up with french doors into a courtyard, and Latin Jazz pervades the scene. One pool table in the back provides some activity other than smoking and drinking.
- Pros: Mojitos, Atmosphere
- Cons: not a good selection of cigars
Better off smoking on the wharf
by christian421
In preface, I point out that while this is an okay bar with a decent beverage list, it is ADVERTISED as a cigar bar, and therefore I review it on that basis. First, beware, there is NO humidor and you will have no more than 7 - 10 cigars to choose from. Most of them are unremarkable and overpriced. I smoked an Aurora 1495 Series for $23 (worth $8). The humidor is a glass candy case at the front of the bar... and dont light the cigar inside, they owner was too lazy to get an cigar club smoking permit. So, you smoke outside on the heated patio. Too bad the heated patio is loaded with kids who smoke cigarettes and NOT cigars, so you will not get a seat and will instead sit in the cold with your stogie for an hour.
Given, the music inside is fun, the scotch selection is good and the bartenders are nice enough, that does not make up for the fact that I paid $5 cover for a cigar bar that is really a bar with room for people to smoke cigars outside.
Words to the owner: I suggest you change your bar name to something less misleading.
You gotta GO in

Took a gal there on a date with the intention to get to know her. My buddy recommended this place because of the easy going vibe & the "coolness" without being cheesy or hipster factor. He also recommended the drink list, which I couldn't agree with him more on this. The bartenders were attentive, interested in us on more than a customer level & made some damn good mojitos. I have been back since then with others & they have all had a good time. My suggestion would be to go on a thursday night & have fun!
- Pros: Mojitos, Bartenders & Thursday nights
- Cons: Packed on weekends
Cool place, great music, hot spot
by jdsfineart
Have stopped by several times and have always enjoyed the great Latin music. Friendly staff and good drinks make this a place to bring friends for an evening of good times.
Nice food menu compliments the drink selections and there is always a festive vibe on the weekends.
They recently added lunch service, so get down here for a bite to eat during the day.
There are several really amazing Cuban bands that get the place jumpin', make sure to find out when they play next. Check out the patio for smoking and private rooms available for group get togethers.
Lots of young partyers and hip people lend a cool energy to the place on weekends and during the week its a great place to bring friends.
Don't miss out, get in here!
Highly recommended.
- Pros: great staff, good food and nice drink list
- Cons: parking
Lively music scene

We came here after dinner for some dancing. There was a latin jazz ensemble and the makeshift dancefloor formulated in front of it, spilling out onto the patio. Good times.
Close your tab!
by monana66
They loose credit cards. I went to close out my tab. The bartenders didnt have it. They gave my card to another person and were rude. The manager was cool about it but why wouldn't he be? Its his establishments fault. but now I gotta fill oud butt loads of paperwork. You owe me a round. How hard is it to do your job?...(venting feels good).
This is THE SPOT!!!

I love everything about this place. They serve real drinks and great food (try the skirt steak!). Bartenders are super friendly. Plus, the live music vibe makes it a really easy place to meet people. Fridays and Saturdays are really bumping. This place is all about a good time, whether starting here or finishing the night off here. Oh yeah . . . and the ladies here are "muy caliente!"
a unique experience

Not many places combine the laid back atmosphere of a bar with high end quality food. You can come here on a romantic date or with a large group of friends, sit at the bar, play pool on one of the tables, enjoy the HUGE patio, share some dishes, dance to live music. This place is run by owners only so they all have a welcoming and consistently professional attitude. Everyone was smiling and having a good time. I can only imagine the popularity increasing, especially on our rare warm SF evenings.
A legal place to puff and salsa dance near North Beach.
by Contributor
Patrons pay a cover (around $5) to hang out and listen to live Latin musicians. In addition to a bar area serving cocktails, sangria and bites like baby back ribs, this is also one of the few places in the city where smoking is legal--there's even a humidor stocked with cigars for sale. A European-style patio with decorative fountains offers a place to light up or catch fresh air, while several pool tables inside offer further diversions.
Diversity
by LadyDracene
I have never been to a bar with such a diverse crowd of laid back people! It was totally refreshing. And the greatest bartenders in all of North Beach.
- Pros: quick bar service, veranda
- Cons: small cover charge
