Clean & Comfortable & in the heart of it all

by wjboring at Citysearch

What a great spot. Cleand and comfortable, featuring Lavazza Coffee right there in your guest room, with its unique brew a cup coffee maker. Looks like they'll soon have a trendy new spot to dine in boasting "meet" "greet" and "eat" at the Donna Scala influenced Urban Tavern. Plus for those coffee fans, there's also a Starbucks right there in the Lobby. Great new meeting space on the Lobby as they transform themselves into a more modern, contemporary look and getting away from the "old world" style that they were able to hold onto for so long....still think they might want that "globe" - it's almost like that other hotel's clock. :-) Definitely worth the stay, relax, rejuvenate .....

Treated like a second class citizen!

by psboston7 at Citysearch

We booked our rooms through priceline for a decent price. Location is perfect except just don't make a left coming out of the front of the hotel, the location is on the "brink" of the tenderloin (which is a questionable location at best). Lots of homeless people around the hotel but they seem to be ALL OVER San Francisco.

Everytime I requested something of the front desk they would remind me that I had made my reservations through priceline. I would recommend that if you are a light sleeper request higher floors, we were on the seventh floor facing the street and also facing the garage which was lit ALL NIGHT the curtains are nearly transparent, not the standard thick curtains with liner that you should be used to in other hotels. When I called the front desk to see about getting another room that wasn't so noisy or wouldn't have the bright flourescent lights into the room their comment was "Well I see you made your reservations through priceline we could upgrade you to a higher floor for $20.00 additional per night". We had 2 queen beds the room was spacious but the double doors to the bathroom were akward.

Housekeeping was inconsistent we had to requests glasses and bath rug (to step out of the shower) then another day the tub wasn't clean... however when I called housekeeping their response was immediate and courteous.

A superlative setting for upscale tourists and conference-goers.

The Scene
Business is booming at this full-service Hilton. The current room count is an impressive 1,908, making it the largest hotel on the West Coast. The size (a whole square block) can be exciting. It provides for enough services and facilities to satisfy the needs of all types of guests. The location is convenient to Union Square shopping and downtown office buildings.

The Details
In 2003, Executive Level guest rooms with private lounges and a 13,000-square-foot spa and health club were part of a $50 million makeover. The tower rooms are particularly large, quiet and comfortable. Depending on which room you book, the views are fabulous. Among many treats is a heated rooftop swimming pool. It's one of a few in town, but don't expect exclusivity, given the numbers that check in here. Expect to encounter ranks of conventioneers and plan on getting lost now and then.

Clean and spotless!

by tonymartin at Citysearch

Room is on the small side, but every aspect of the room was clean and comfy and meticulously well-kept. For someone like me who prioritizes cleanliness over anything else (such as room size), this was the perfect hotel. And the bathroom was just brilliant. I hope to stay there again and again in the future!
