Eclipse at the Metreon. This is one of the main places I come to see movies in San Francisco. They always have a wide selection of movies and times, so it's great for a spontaneous movie adventure. The latest movie I saw here was Eclipse. The massive screen showcased Jacob's abs perfectly! It felt so real, I wanted to jump out of my seat to kick Bella in the head and hold onto Edward for dear life. Luckily my large bucket of (free refillable) popcorn was holding me back. WARNING: Seats lean comfortably back, so boyfriends can fall asleep while you swoon over chick flicks.

Pretty rad. With a beautiful grassy park out back, Sony Style store inside, and more than a few decent restaurants, the Metreon has been a favorite since I moved here. I really dig walking through the place. It's clean, the theater is nice, and the place has a very positive vibe. I love coming here.

This futuristic emporium is millennia ahead of its time.. In Short
The Metreon is more than a collection of high-tech-gadget superstores--it's a tourist attraction. Some serious gadget connoisseurs get the first glance at the latest trick up Bill Gates' sleeve, but most Metreon customers are movie-goers waiting for their flick to begin. The four floors of flashing lights, exciting exhibits and technological wonders bring new meaning to the term "sensory overload."

Not the BEST mall, but it's got SONY!. If you're looking to do some serious shopping, this place isnt it. It's more of a place to check out SONY items (afterall it IS called Sony Metreon). You can go from Tv's to video games, walkmans, stereo systems, laptops, etc. It's an attraction to see if you're in San Francisco, but don't expect too much, there isn't really anything "too" great about it. More of a video game center for kids! The theatre however is NICE!

Good movie theater, bad mall. Sure, it's basically a mall dressed up as a high-tech entertianment center, but you gotta admit that the sound system and seating at the movie theater is pretty sweet. I love it when they decide to show regular movies at the Imax theater. I once saw "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" here which made the experience of seeing this amazing film even better. But aside from the movie theater, the food court is way too expensive, and the arcade only has a handful of games. They need to bring in a larger variety of games. My only other favorite thing to do? Browse through the amazingly expensive Sony store, and check out the latest games in the Playstation center.

Most Heinous. Touted as a futuristic urban entertainment center, this is really nothing more than a suburban multiplex slapped down in the middle of a city that prides itself on beauty and architecture. In other words, it's an eye sore, an expensive eye sore. Tickets for movies here are more expensive than anywhere else in the Bay Area.
