This is my first review. I live about 2 blocks away from Dutch Girl. At first I was leary about the "environmentally safe" cleaning because I wasn't sure if my clothes would come out as nice as a traditional cleaning method. I find the staff is very helpful, they carefully inspect the materials of my clothes to make sure they don't need to over charge me to simply launder and press a garment instead of fully dry cleaning it. I've always been able to pick up my clothes after 4pm 2 days after I drop my items off, and whether I have 2 pieces or 20, they're always on time. If you look carefully, Dutch Girl also offers some great deals at various times during the month, so you can feel good about helping the environment and not feel like you are paying an arm and a leg. The staff has always been friendly to me, and they have done everything they can to ensure my clothes are done right the first time.

Oh my goodness! This has to be the best dry cleaners ever! Now, I don't get a lot fo dry cleaning done (but everyone in our company uses Dutch Girl and loves them - like at least 20 accounts!) but when I need it, I go there! I recently got married and wanted just to clean MY special dress (even though they offer a very affordable "preservation" package. The dress came home perfect...no yellow tinting, not spots or any horror stories you hear about other places. They are also the friendliest people you could ever meet! A good business with good people. IF you don't take your cleaning there - you're missing out!
Pros: GREAT HOURS! GREAT LOCATION (next to Freeway)! GREAT PRICES!
Cons: none - they even deliver!!!

Back in July 2007, my shirts were missing at Dutch Girls, and when they were found and returned to me, the missed shirts were pressed but stuck with many dots of dust as if they had been thrown on the floor. I had a bad experience communicating with a 50 something year old clerk there, and due to a lack of accountable person at the store, it took a while to get them to re-do the job. Finally, as a token of apology, Dutch Girls did not charge me for those missed shirts. Hence, I kept using their services. But, in February 2008, one of my shirts was missing and Roger, a self-claimed store manager called me to tell me that he would reimburse the cost of the shirt if I gave him my credit card receipt. After I search it, I could not locate a two months' old receipt. I called back and left a message for Roger that I wanted to discuss other remedies for the missing shirts because I did not find a receipt. I have not heard anything from Roger or anybody else since then. I gave up. I had used several laundry shops in San Francisco for over 12 years, but none of them had lost my shirt. Dutch Girls' complete lack of accountability turned me off. I stopped going back sine then. If you like a thrill of losing your clothes, go for Dutch Girls.

I use this cleaners because they are close & convenient, but the cleaning is the worst I have ever experienced. I have never had an experience where the clothes come back almost as dirty as when I took them in. Either its the new "environmentally friendly" method they use, or they are lazy. I just had to return a sofa cover because it was still covered with dirt--and the second time came back dirty too. Laundry is o.k.. Only reason to use this cleaners is the good parking.

I just called to get rates and hours over the phone: The girl was laughing the whole time I was just asking what times and days they were open for business! How unprofessional! I will NEVER attempt to clean my garments here!!!!

Dutch Girl Cleaners is a great place to go. I am a mother of two and always on the run. I take my husband’s work shirts to Dutch Girl and they always do a terrific job. They pay special attention to requests that I have and the shirts come back looking great! They provide top-notch service as well. When I have the kids in the car and I come to pick up the clothes, I can just call ahead and tell them I'm coming in and they bring the clothes right out to the car. It’s so nice to have a small business where they still give you really good personalized service and care about their customers. I highly recommend it!
Pros: A great family owned small business, parking is easy, great service, and new building

Dutch Girl has been a staple in Walnut Creek for over 30 years. Their customer service is great, and the cleaning expertise is even better. What more can you ask for from a family business? The owners and staff are friendly and always make sure to accomodate any of my cleaning needs. I have been to other cleaners before and have never had anyone take care of my clothing the way that Dutch Girl does. They also have an excellent alterations department. Just last week, I got a pair of jeans hemmed, and they did a great job. If you are looking for a great cleaners with years of knowldege about cleaning, and a fabulous and friendly staff, look no further than Dutch Girl!
Pros: Can't beat the parking!

DO NOT GO HERE! They lost 4 of my shirts. Manager stated that 20 orders went out and that it probably got piggybacked with someone else's order. They told me they called all 20 people and that only 4 people called back. It has been 2 weeks and they still do not have my shirts. Manager said that she has been calling people every couple of days and leaving messages. I find it hard to believe that 16 people do not return phone calls! ***UPDATE! got my shirts back, but one of them it look like someone wore it and they did not clean them when they got it back....i cannot stress enough how much this place stinks! ***Response to Michelle: The shirts were not returned within 4 days, it was 2 weeks. Also one of the shirts was returned dirty. I have no reason to lie about when the shirts were returned or the condition of them when returned.
Cons: Poor customer service, untrained employees

I buy alot of Eileen Fisher black silks. The underarms always fade and lose color. I tried many cleaners, despite the reviews, Dutch Girl was the only cleaners who had the knowledge to give my clothing a speacial oil bath. THEY LOOK NEW!!!! My husband where's very expensive suits and loves his Tommy Bahama Silk. Our previous cleaner was always pulling out the color when removing stains, RED WINE. Dutch Girl was able to remove stains that were 1 year old with harming the fabric. We aslo love that they pick up from my office for free. There is no odor in our clothing. We used to air out our clothes in the garage before taking them in the house. Thank you Dutch Girl for your honest hard work, We love you guys!
Pros: FREE VALET SERVICE> ALL GREEN CLEANING
Cons: NONE

I too, despite the bad reviews, took a chance on this drycleaner b/c they used green earth. I had 4 garments, three of which they ruined. One they ruined very badly -- I had an expensive black label Armani pants and their spot-treating ate through the fabric. I had a dress which they failed to remove standard underarm sweat stains. I could go on forever. This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. Don't let any drycleaner tell you sweat stains don't come off. A good drycleaner will know how to remove them.
