Nice, warm atmosphere, huge portions – I have lived in this area for 15 years and I just recently grabbed a bite at Rainbow Pizza. First of all, their menu is extensive-which is great. So many things to choose from! My friend and I dove into their Mediterranean cuisine which was very good. Delicious hummus, stuffed grape leaves, nice wine. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was pretty packed-good crowd. It's a great place to go if you don't want to get stuck in the downtown San Mateo hustle and bustle. Will go again for sure!

Luckily, the food turned the tides. The sandwich was mouthwatering, with a perfect harmony existing between the meat, sauce and vegetables. It made me long to visit the Greek islands shown in the posters on the walls. Our waitress interrupted this dream by pitching our bill at us as we ate. At least she was quicker this time...
