The Real Deal Deli........ Every city needs a good ITALIAN deli and Ravioli House is it for San Mateo. I like a place that takes pride in their product.....a high quality sandwich calls for fresh ingredients and careful assembly to maintain balanced flavor, moisture, and structural integrity. You can't get more fresh than daily roasted turkey at the Ravioli House and the staff is well educated in the deli-torial arts. I've actually been there when they're pulling two monster turkeys fresh out of the oven in the morning like it's Thanksgiving!!! Plus, they have a wide selection of Italian dishes made fresh in-house!! Also, I met the new owner, Dan, who plans to bring some youth to this 80+ year old establishment, while only making changes to improve and not take away from everything that has made Ravioli House successful for so many years.

Best homemade food! Lasgne especially!!. The Ravioli House has just changed ownership. Following its 75 year old tradition, new owner, Dan Topoian, wants to keep what makes the Ravioli House special: fresh roasted turkey meat, homemade raviolis & lasagna, excellent sandwiches, and a family atmosphere. Over time, I hear that Dan will be renovating and adding new items to the menu as his customers see fit. I strongly recommend trying Ravioli House.

VERY SAD THAT THE OWNERS MAKE SANDWICHES AND TOUCH MONEY AND DONT WASH THERE HANDS.. I have lived in San Mateo for 43 years ...I had a friend recomend THE RAVIOLI HOUSE, Italian Delicatessen .. and was very disapointed in the Pastrami Sandwich that the owner made me ... They use a Large Roll with only 2 pieces of meat on it ... so basically you have a very dry sandwich with alot of Bread and hardly any meat ... The owners seem very nice, but what really bothered me was the cleanliness of the workers ... WHO make the sandwich ...THEY DO NOT WEAR GLOVES, AND THE OWNER HIMSELF, HIS NAME IS ANTE, MAKES THE SANDWICHES, TAKES MONEY, DIRTY MONEY, AND THEN PROCEEDS TO MAKE MORE SANDWICHES WITH OUT WASHING HIS HANDS ... I FOUND THIS MOST DIFFICULT TO EVER WANT TO RETURN TO THE RAVIOLI HOUSE... AND WAS VERY UPSET, WHEN I TOLD HIM .. HE DIDNT CARE ... JUST SAID TO REPORT HIM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BEAURO.. HE JUST DIDNT CARE AT ALL ... I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE RAVIOLI HOUSE AT 505 S B STREET SAN MATEO ... AND REALIZE IN 43 YEARS I NEVER MISSED ANYTHING .... ALSO THE ENTIRE DELICATESSEN HAS NEVER BEEN RENOVATED ... INFACT THERE REFRIDGERATORS ARE SO DIRTY THEY PUT WHITE PAPER ON THE GLASS SO YOU CANT SEE IN.... THE ONE GOOD THING IS THE PRICES ARE DIRT CHEAP ... BUT AS THEY SAY .., YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!! VERY DISAPOINTED !!!

Great Value. The Ravioli House is a classic "mom and pop" delicatessan. I love their roast turkey sandwiches, which are cut from turkies that are roasted fresh every day. The owners are extremely friendly, and the prices are reasonable.
