What happened to La Cumbre??. Have been a patron for years...................now the prices are high, the portions smaller and the food has absolutely no flavor. What a loss.

not recommended. Well, I've been to this taqueria varies times. Every time I go there seems to be a problem with the food. It doesn't taste fresh. I know the taste of food is important and this restaurant lacks it. Custumer services also is horrible. The ladies at the counter are rude and unhelpful. Im would not recommend this restaurant to a friend and definitely could not return. I gave this taqueria varies chances and it just doesn't taste right.

Good food. Good food. I have been here several times when the line is out the door. I don't have a favorite dish as I like everything I have tried here!

Simply the Best. I'm not exactly sure what anyone else who didn't give this place 5 stars is talking about because the food here is amazing. Fast, friendly service and fresh ingredients for a great price... what else can you ask for from your neighborhood Taqueria??? They even have off street parking! (although it is a small lot, where else can you find that in downtown San Mateo?) The amount of bombastic burrito goodness you get per dollar is bar none. I haven't worked my way through the entire menu yet but thus far, I am a big fan and will make sure my friends who visit from out of town get a taste of this place before they go.

Awesome Game Day Burritos. Right next to downtown train station in San Mateo. Grab your awesome burrito and jump on the train to the game to cheer on the Giants. Better than ANY downtown san mateo taquerias. Low maintenance environment to keep costs down. $6 for a foot of perfection!

Best Burritos. I love La Cumbre because it has a comfy, homey feel to it but the BEST part are their burritos...I have tried many other many items, which are also very good, but their burritos are famous! They are unique and tasty, like no other. AND they have the best sauce at the tables, highly recommend putting this on the burrito!

Don Squirreleone Visits.... La Chewy Tacqueria. This used to be my favourite taqueria around. I went back yesterday for the first time in two years and boy was I disappointed. The carne asada burrito was chewy as hell, like rubber. And as Walker mentioned, the nachos grande used some jv guac and cheese. However, the avocado salsa is remarkable -- basically the only redeeming quality of the meal. Lastly, an hour after eating I experienced several episodes of "heat flashes" and near blackouts. I am done with La Chewy Taqueria for another few years.

Average at Best. Squireleone led Walker astray on this one, proving he is no match for Clarence Gilyard. This place was very average. Walker had the Carne Asada burrito and split some super nachos with chicken. The carne asada was the texture of a tire. The "guac" on the nachos was a soupy avocado paste, the sour cream was watery, and the cheese was of the variety you get on movie theatre nachos. The chicken was good, as was the avocado salsa they offered at the salsa bar. Overall, this place was dissapointing - no TJ for Walker here.
