Best Mexican Tacos. This is the Real Deal; will go head to head with Mexico's best.. When you are foreign to a city, it could take years to find the place for any certain food. We are immigrants from Mexico who love a great place to eat. This taco place was a Godsend, we discovered it by accident and I ma very glad that we did. We found it on our first week after recently have moved from Monterey. We have eaten in Mexico city, Guadalajara, Tijuana,Sonora, Sinaloa, and always try to find the best taco place; in some places we have luck and in others it is very hard to strike it rich. Taqueria San Jose by Mason and Francisco is by far one of the best taco places on both sides of the border that we have savored this traditional food. The herbs and vegetables that accompany them are finely chopped to an art, making them more palatable an delightful, the meat is the traditional cut and the tortilla should be ordered just warmed with nothing added on the outside so that the full white corn taste can be truly savored. Salsa is just right and maybe a little spicy even for ourselves who like to bite on raw hot peppers when we eat. We have only ordered the Carne Asada taco, the Quesadilla w/ Carne Asada, the Tripa taco, and the Chorizo taco, all very exquisite. The owner is the taco maker and also takes great pride about his creations, after asked by me what is it that makes a taco and a salsa different from the millions of possible eateries his answer was : "It all depends how much care you place into the making", I could not agree more, my mom would have said that great tasting food is made with love, and you can't go wrong following the same advice.
