The Scene – This remodeled Victorian in the heart of the city's Italian neighborhood pays homage to San Francisco's Beat generation. The hotel's entrance on Columbus Avenue, tucked between a bakery and a cafe, opens to a narrow flight of stairs leading to the reception desk and handsomely painted corridors.
